Re: Upcoming Gallbladder Surgery -Terrified of Anesthesia
Thank you everyone!! Your responses are helping calm my nerves. The pre-op questionnaire that I completed asked whether I had OSA to which I answered yes. I also just found out that I will get to meet with the Anesthetist 2 - 3 days before my surgery. I'm going to go prepared with questions. On top ...

Upcoming Gallbladder Surgery -Terrified of Anesthesia
Greetings all. I suffer from OSA and have been on CPAP for 5 years. I'm scheduled for gallbladder surgery on January 20th and am absolutely terrified. I've read that people with OSA can have alot of issues with general anesthesia. I've never been put under and am so worried that something is going t...

Re: Morning tooth pain - At my wits end
Maria, I'm in Winnipeg. The machine I use forces air...it doesn't breathe with me. I still have my tonsils and adenoids and that combined with the forced air causes my tongue to be pushed forward against my teeth, hence the pain. I'm going to look into getting a nightguard for my top teeth. Right no...

Re: Morning tooth pain - At my wits end
In response to some of your questions, I'm 50 years old and have been on CPAP therapy for about 5 years. I do clench and grind and wear a custom nightguard from my dentist but it's on my bottom teeth. After seeing the gap and overheat of my teeth she said that in retrospect she should have given me ...

Morning tooth pain - At my wits end
Hi all. Has anyone else woken up with bad tooth pain from their tongue pushing against their teeth during sleep? I tape my mouth to keep it closed during sleep but have found that my tongue is forced up against my teeth even harder than if I didn't tape because the pressure has nowhere to go. I woke...

Re: Xylimelts for Dry Mouth Overnight?
I was going to try these but chickened out when I found out you had to stick them on your teeth.
I'm using Biotene Moisturizing Gel and it works well.

Chin-up Strips
Hi all.
Has anyone tried these as an alternative to a chin strap or taping their mouth shut?
They look interesting but don't know how well they work.

Re: tooth gap from tongue thrust - retainer with tongue crib?
Thanx everyone for your responses. I'm going to ask the ortho just to close the gap with either Invisalign or a spring retainer and see what he says. I understand why he wants to do the whole mouth (closing the gap will create other small gaps and gaps mean less stability and greater chance of relap...

Re: Poll: Length of time on xPAP before feeling 90-100% restored
I've been on CPAP therapy for about 7 years (I'll be 50 this year) and while I felt better with a few months, I will never be greatly or fully restored. The mere fact of having to sleep with bulky hoses and headgear contributes to not having a really comfortable restorative sleep.

tooth gap from tongue thrust - retainer with tongue crib?
Hello all. I started CPAP therapy about 7 years ago and over that time my two top front teeth have slowly drifted apart causing a gap. It appears that i've become a tongue thruster due to the forced air pressure. It's causing my tongue to be pushed forward against my teeth causing my teeth to spread...
