Re: Cpap Insurance Claims with online Out of Network Providers
I'm checking into this right now (for supplies.) I have BCBS. The way it works (for my particular plan anyway) is that once deductible is met (in/out of network combined for me) they'll reimburse me at out-of-network rates, meaning 50%. Ironically it appears that my local DME (well, the insurance ma...

Re: FFM Vs. Nose Pillows - Is there a pressure difference?
Thanks Palerider. I'll take a look and see if it is set to a non-zero value. Both masks I have are ResMed Airfit, so no number of course. I assume the DME left that setting at zero, but we all know what it means to assume...

Re: FFM Vs. Nose Pillows - Is there a pressure difference?
that's why there are settings in the resmed machines, (and sort of) in the respironics machines, to compensate for pressure irregularities caused by this added resistance. are you setting your machine appropriately? I don't see any settings in my Respironics machine that appear to be directly relat...

Re: Frustrated: Need help with pillows
Since you just switched 2 weeks ago, aren't you in the 30 day period where you can trade it in and the DME can get credit from the manufacturer? I'd push back on the DME a bit and tell them this brand is not working for you and get them to give you one of the other brands recommended. Insurance shou...

Re: AHI lower with nasal pillows?
Papit: I have a brand new seal for my FFM that I haven't switched in yet, so I'm definitely good to go to keep it for a spare, and for times when I'm sick and congestion will make a nasal a no-go. Yaconsult: The poll is fundamentally flawed because it doesn't allow multiple options to be selected. S...

Re: Anyone else under 40 w/ OSA?
Yes, I'm 34, and as others have said, I've probably had it for a good 5-10 years before I finally went in and got checked. I'm quite overweight at the moment, but when I was closer to "normal" weight my wife still noticed symptoms.

Re: I am done with C-Pap
Quitting cpap won't hurt them, just you. Mail is lost/destroyed daily, LOTS of it. If you need to be sure something that you sent is received, send it with a signature receipt request. Then you've got proof. Good luck You can probably physically take your SD card in to the office of your DME as wel...

Re: QT: Windows 10 this summer, Free upgrade first year
A couple of my friends also recommended one of the several add-ons out there to change the start menu "back to normal." My argument was if you learn to use the keyboard as I did, all of those add-ons (which incidentally use disk space, memory, and add yet another variable into your system should som...

Re: I am done with C-Pap
Don't give up. Look for another provider or buy your supplies from our hosts. An AHI of 80 is not safe for your health, or those around you while driving, etc. Fire your DME, find a new one, file a complaint with your insurance that you were in fact compliant but the DME failed to report it properly...

Re: AHI lower with nasal pillows?
I remember a while back reading someone's "rant" (for lack of better term) about how we're all sent home with this machine, based on a SWAG, as to what mask we want to use. The DMEs seem to downplay the options we have with regard to getting extra masks in order to find the one that fits well for us...

Re: AHI lower with nasal pillows?
That does make sense Guest1. Though my pressure is already at 6, I don't imagine going any lower would be beneficial. It may be worth running by my doc after I get used to the new mask a bit first.

Re: airsense A10 and the NSA
Pugsy basically summed up my feelings on it too. I honestly can't think of any useful data that could come from monitoring and collecting random peoples' xPAP machine data, at least from a government/security standpoint. Now xPAP device and accessory manufacturers, sure, there is probably something ...

Re: AHI lower with nasal pillows?
Well so far as the day goes on I'm more and more convinced it wasn't aerophagia. It was just a WAG in the middle of the night when I switched the mask to be on the safe side.
