Mouth breathing = chapped lips?
I have used nasal pillows for the last six years. In the last month or so I have noticed that I wake up drooling more than I ever have and now I have extremely chapped lips. I know it's possible that I have become more of a mouth breather than I have been in the past. Would that cause my terribly ch...

Re: Sores & blisters from AirFit P10 For Her Nasal Pillow Mask
After almost 7 yrs on nasal pillows I still get sores a few times a year. I got them an awful lot when I first started out. Now if I get them I think for me its one of two things, my mask is too tight or I have a few restless nights of constant tossing and turning causing rubbing on my nose from the...

Re: Cat Chewing....
I disconnect my hose and place it in my nightstand drawer when not in use. Makes it really hard for them to get to it.

Re: Repairing Small Hole in Heated Tube?
I have two kitties, one of them demolished a few tubes on my old machine. Of course I got to a point where I didn't want to keep buying tubing so I just got some heavy duty duct tape and taped it up really good. Seemed to work. Since I have gotten a new machine with a heated hose I have been much be...

Re: Really OT Cats
We use the Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract for our two indoor kitties. One used to have a terrible habit of peeing in corners. I had tried all types of litters and so far this has really worked the best. It hides the smell, clumps and seems to last a decent amount of time. Also, they have destroyed a few ho...

Re: Question about CA's
Interesting info. I wasn't aware that they can happen when falling asleep or waking. That makes sense with the time frames they occur and since it really is 1 or 2 a day and some days 0 I wont worry about it (unless of course that increases). Thanks all for the input

Re: WHY!!!
I just had my second sleep study (technically third) since it has been about 6 yrs for me as well. However, I got a titration study to find what my new pressures should be. I too was given a brick 6 years ago. My insurance didn't require it that I am aware of, it was a decision made between myself a...

Question about CA's
So I am still learning sleepyhead, the graphs confuzzle the heck out of me, but I have a question in regards to the Clear Airway events. I looked at all the days that indicated I had 1 or 2 CA events and almost all of them occur around the time I wake up, look at the clock and think "crap, only x mo...

Re: Somewhat OT - Sinus Rinsing
Not sure if it is something you can use but I use a saline gel called Ayre when I need a little extra moisture. You can find it in the same aisle as the saline sprays.

Re: Best way to eliminate the new plastic stink?
Once the mask is dry, you could also try sealing it during the day in a large ziplock bag with a bunch of baking soda. That is a great idea! I like the idea of placing something nice smelling nearby as well. Thanks for all the ideas everyone. I sucked it up and got through the evening and it wasnt ...

Re: Best way to eliminate the new plastic stink?
Thanks. I did rinse it but may have to get some soap involved. Letting it sit out would mean having to use the old machine as this new hose doesn't fit my old mask. Oh well, hopefully some warm water and soap helps. Thanks!

Best way to eliminate the new plastic stink?
I just got my new AirSense for Her with the P10 mask today. I have a super sniffer for smells and certain smells really bother me, some even triggering headaches. The new mask smells like new plastic, does anyone have a good way to eliminate that smell quickly? Or am I just going to have to deal wit...

Re: OT - Wow! My cat loves...
We caught one of my cats on the table right after dinner, prior to clearing the dishes, eating my cooked broccoli. Just chomping away like it was something he did everyday. He also has an obsession with string cheese, though he has never actually eaten any. As soon as I get one out of the fridge he ...

Re: 6 year CPAP user. Should I try Auto?
I too have been on regular CPAP for the past six years. I recently had a new titration study to see if my setting needing updating and the study center recommended a straight CPAP setting. When I went to visit with my PCP regarding the results we talked about the options and I told him I was interes...

Re: My prescription clusterf**ck; DME doesn't take my insurance.
I too have Blue Cross and they have a section on their website that I used to look up in network DME providers. You should be able to look up this info as well. Not sure what web address though as BCBS has multiple for state specific. My dr offered to have his assistant do it for me, but I wanted to...
