Re: Worried about few, but long centrals
Centrals are just your body *not needing to breathe*. That 'uncomfortable feeling' is the buildup of carbon dioxide in your blood, and your body needing to get rid of it. For whatever reason, (we can speculate, but there's no hard and fast proof), you just didn't need to breathe for a bit, there's ...

Re: Worried about few, but long centrals
I might do so at some point, but right now I’d just like to get your opinion with the data available in OSCAR.
Not arguing against that.

Re: Worried about few, but long centrals
I’m sorry, but I just need to get to the bottom of this. I haven’t looked at the minute ventilation graph until now. I looked at it the night where I had a 27 seconds long CA. The lowest minute ventilation value was 1.88. When I looked at the minute ventilation waveform across entire night this seem...

Re: Worried about few, but long centrals
Thanks for the answer, Pugsy!
I don’t want to take this experiment too far, but I was right now, without too much effort, able to hold my breath for 30 seconds when taking an in-breath right before. Without taking an in-breath it started to feel uncomfortable around 15 seconds.

Worried about few, but long centrals
My AHI is normally around 0.5–2.5. My CAI is around 0.75. When I look at a typical week of data I’ve got 3–4 days with at least one central over 20 seconds. Some of my centrals are as long as 27 seconds. Most over 20 are less than 25 seconds. When I visited my sleep doctor she wasn’t worried, and sa...

Re: Dry mouth, humidifier settings, condensation, …
Tried a night where I used mouthwash for dry mouth and had Climate Control set to Auto. So far it seems to work.

Re: Dry mouth, humidifier settings, condensation, …
Thanks for the help, Pugsy!
I have bought mouthwash for dry mouth, and I’ll in addition try Auto and see if I can adjust to that/it works without causing condensation.

Re: Dry mouth, humidifier settings, condensation, …
That might be. I cannot control how I breathe when I sleep though. Should I then use humidifier settings that feel comfortable with, and rather use something like Xylimelts?Jas_williams wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 4:17 amYour dry mouth is. It due to humidity settings but more likely mouth breathing.

Dry mouth, humidifier settings, condensation, …
I realize that I’m struggling with dry mouth at night. I usually have the tube temperature set to 20°C/68°F, and the humidity level set to 4. Tonight I tried 25°C/68°F and 6. I had lots of problems with condensation in the hose and the mask. What I would like to do is to have Climate Control set to ...

Re: Dreamwear vs Resmed F20 vs F30
It’s a program to analyze the data registered by the CPAP machine. It recently changed name to OSCAR. See https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/.

Re: Dreamwear vs Resmed F20 vs F30
As Pugsy says, changing mask probably won’t solve your dry mouth problem, but I’ll share my experience with the ResMed masks. Haven’t used Dreamwear, but I’ve used F20, and tried an F30. F20 comes with either silicon (AirFit) or foam cushion (AirTouch). If you have the means then I would consider ch...

Re: ResMed's My Air App
I like the things that I have to look good. It just makes me feel good – as simple as that.  I suspected as much and you know what....I am fine with that. I don't expect everyone to feel like I do about anything. Glad to hear that. I feel that many on this board have a somewhat utilitari...

Re: ResMed's My Air App
Pugsy, I won’t quote you in order to keep the reply shorter. Thanks for sharing your perspective – and I really can’t argue about health being the most important priority. I’m a guy in my mid-thirties. I don’t have a lot of things in my apartment, but I like the things that I have to look good. It j...

Re: ResMed's My Air App
You are assuming that ResMed will change what they do or offer on their website?? You are new and naive....go ahead and wish and hope. Who knows...they might actually think about a real patient for a change. The 10 year plus cynic cpap user who has seen all the "new and improved" stuff that these m...

Re: ResMed's My Air App
There is already something simpler....the information on the machines' LCD screen. Doesn't get much simpler or easier than that. Turn the machine off and look at the screen at the same time and there you have it. Pretty darn simple. If the AHI is decent....leak rate is decent...hours slept is what ...
