Re: Mirage Quattro Problems
Hi All!!! The VA sent me home with a Mirage Quattro full face mask. I have a hard time getting it to seal near my eyes and it cause a painful pressure sore on the bridge of my nose. I have been using it for about a week now. I'm just wondering if I should give it more time or trade it for something...

Re: Recently diagnosed with sleep apnea
It all started with depression, anxiety, lack of attention & focus, fatique, never feeling like I get a good nights sleep and stomach/GI issues. My question is has anyone else suffered from some of the things I mentioned? And if so, how much of a difference did it make when you started treating sle...

Re: Bi-Level vs Bi-Level ST vs ASV Questions for CPAP Gurus
What is the difference between Bi-level and Bi-level ST? I understand ST stands for spontaneous timed and I've tried to research what exactly that means but I'm not really understanding it. Also, what are the reasons someone would be put on an ST machine versus a standard Bi-level or Auto Titrating...

Re: Bi-Level vs Bi-Level ST vs ASV Questions for CPAP Gurus
Lastly, I had originally downloaded the ResScan software but decided last night to also download the newest version of SleepyHead. ResScan will label all my apneas as Obstructive, whereas, Sleepyhead labels them as Unclassified apneas (could be central or obstructive but not enough data). Is this s...

Bi-Level vs Bi-Level ST vs ASV Questions for CPAP Gurus
A few quick questions for all the cpap gurus on here. I'm currently on a ResMed AirCurve 10 ST. For my own understanding I'm trying to figure why exactly this is the type of therapy I need versus an Auto-titrating machine or an ASV machine. Note- I had 4 central apneas in my sleep study while on the...

Re: POLL: How do you feel using your xPAP?
I didn't think I had sleep apnea but going into the sleep study found I had an AHI of 90 on my back. I was never in REM sleep either during the study so the docs think my AHI could be worse. Started treatment 1 month ago. The first week was hell. I didn't even fall asleep with the mask on until abou...

Re: Diagnosed with Severe at 21 and 15% bodyfat
I'm a 24 year old male 7-8% body fat and found out a month ago I have sleep apnea and an Ahi of 90. I was as surprised as you were. I wouldn't linger on it. I still think it at times maybe they screwed up the sleep study and I don't have sleep apnea. But there have been a few times in the last month...

Re: How Accurate Are The New ResMeds? And Advice On Home Study
If you have centrals that are triggered by cpap pressure then doing a home study without cpap pressure isn't going to be a true reflection of the central component of your sleep apnea. It would probably give you a good indication of the obstructive component of your sleep apnea. Useless for central...

How Accurate Are The New ResMeds? And Advice On Home Study
I've been on the cpap now for 1 month and while I'm averaging less than 2-3 AHI every night I'm still waking feeling exhausted. Last night for example the ResMed said my AHI was 0.6 and yet I wake up feeling tired and groggy! I have the ResScan software as well and have been checking it everyday. I'...

Re: Sleep Study Results In- Need Advice
See if your doctor will prescribe an ASV machine instead of an ST machine. It will be more flexible if you develope, as was suggested, pressure induced central apneas. I think the reimbursement code is the same for both so your insurance won't choke on the change. Okay, thanks JDS74. I'm getting th...

Sleep Study Results In- Need Advice
Hi all, I'm new to the forum. I had posted on here a few weeks ago with my preliminary sleep results. At the time all I had been told was I had an AHI > 15. I now have the full results for the study, and a follow-up appointment set on March 13th to be fitted with a machine. The abbreviated results o...

Re: Sleep Apnea and Muscle Twitching, Cramps, Fibromyalgia
... . Good luck to you. Thank you Sir for your response. I appreciate the info you provided. I think saying my presentation of symptoms as being atypical was a little presumptuous, as now I'm learning there are lot of people on this site that don't fit the typical bill for sleep apnea. I like the a...

Re: Sleep Apnea and Muscle Twitching, Cramps, Fibromyalgia
Thanks Janice. Sorry Cpap hasn't helped you. I've heard making radical changes to diet like going gluten and dairy free and all processed foods people have cured their fibro. I'm planning on doing this in the next few months to see if it helps. You have some medical studies about that to cite? Typi...

Re: Sleep Apnea and Muscle Twitching, Cramps, Fibromyalgia
Hello all, I'm new on here. I recently had a sleep study conducted and was initially told I had an AHI > 15. I was put on a CPAP- full facial mask only 2 hours into the study but couldn't sleep with it on. I'm waiting for the doctor to read the study and have me come back in to be fitted for a mask...
