Re: Confused regarding Mask/Tubing/Humidifier Tub Cleaner

that's interesting that it's in the air, Which is why I never recommend air drying. You never know what is in someone's air or if they just had a brush fire or toxic train derailment. Plus the things people are drying only get wet when used. Should we only ever use distilled water even for rinsing?...

Re: Confused regarding Mask/Tubing/Humidifier Tub Cleaner

Serratia marcescens is floating in the room air but needs minerals to feed on. The minerals come from using or even rinsing with tap water. It is not necessary to wipe or otherwise dry the *water* tub or hose both will get wet again with use. I never dry mine. Take a look at the overflow hole in the...

Re: Medicare requires repeated new split study? After 15 years of cpap use.

Sleep Dr said the sleep studies done 15 years ago (when originally diagnosed) did not have me off the cpap for 2 full hours (AHI 91 and so they put me on a cpap at the 60-90 minute mark). I don't believe this is true. Speak directly with Medicare to determine. I had a PSG in 2004 and had to dx 2hrs...

Assuming you know how to set the pressures.
I'm curious why you feel you the need to set the date & time?

Re: ResMed Filter Question

i think they might be pieces of the filter breaking off, there are also fibres from the filter sticking through the grill of the filter doorway, so I want to replace the filter to be safe. I'm thinking you have the filter in backwards. When you get new filters, note the two sides are different and ...

Maybe my tap water is extra special good... I've had no problems... even used it as bong water (!) for many years,
Did you clean your bong every week too? Then leave it to air dry? Does the bong qualify as a bilevel too?

Re: New Z2 keeps stopping

While auto start can be the problem so can high leaks or low power. Are you by chance using a battery?
Do you have the right power plug for the country?

As mentioned it is always a good idea to use for a couple weeks at home to work out any bugs and to know IF the pressures for you.

Re: What brand of airline approved battery do you use for Dreamstation?

Recently upgraded to Dreamstation 2 and unfortunately the battery isn't compatible with my new machine. You don't say why it isn't compatible? Could it be it needs a different power cord? https://www.google.com/search?q=freedom+cpap+battery+dreamstation+2&sca_esv=b7c0b9c8093215b7&sca_upv=1&ei=8A4jZ...

Re: Resmed water chamber issues

We haven't tried the dishwasher method either, didn't want to risk it since it has rubber seals etc in the tray. Everyone here does their thing differently. For me, I use only distilled water and find I don't have to clean the chamber. The main reason is tap water leaves minerals that bacteria feed...

I wouldn't want any Respironics machine myself what with all that recall mess.
Agreed. But I'm sure you can see I was hoping he has an AS10.

Re: New Machine

I don't have insurance so I'll just be paying cash. What make/model cpap do you have now? You can save a bunch of cash n grief if you buy whatever model you have now. Hopefully its a Resmed AS 10 auto? The 11 has nothing you need to pay extra for. Pugsy musta been typing while I was. She shows you ...

I had to buy a DC power cable
Reminds me - that's all I use at home is a DC power cord. So I didn't have to buy a new DC power cord either. I only use the AC cord when I travel. Then there are all the filters I also have.

Re: My Lucky Day

I forgot to mention the included SD card AND a carry case for the SD card. I suppose it is so you can carry the card to your Dr?
So if you aren't getting an SD card with your brand new zero hour AirCurve 10 then your equipment dealer (DME) is stealing it.

Re: My resmed shuts down when it gets cold

I notice when it gets to 14´ Celsius and my CPAP machine power adapter and machine get cold it shuts down and gotta warm them up for it to work when unplugged and replugged. I'm wondering if you're having a problem with the power supply dropping low? Any idea what the AC voltage is doing when this ...
