having trouble exhaling

Having trouble exhaling through my nose with the Swift nasal pillows. I am not a mouth breather and start to feel like I am suffocating when I can't breathe out through my nose. Have gone back to the nasal mask but hate the head gear and would like to use the nasal pillows. Any suggestions????

Re: Really OT Cats

Love seeing the posts from cat owners.....as I am a proud owner of 11 cats!! Someone had told me before I started using the cpap that it would scare them off the bed. They don't mind it. No, all 11 don't sleep with me. 5 usually stay in porch or garage at night. 3 on the bed with me. One tried playi...

Re: New-ish Diagnosis and User... Can't STAND the masks

Well, I learned two things reading these posts......not to sleep on your back and that Wisp may cause congestion! I thought sleeping on your back was good because I seem to have good breathing and the mask stays in place better. I've wondered why I get nasal congestion when I put the wisp on to go t...

Re: Poll: What type of mask do you use?

Interesting that so many people use the pillows! I started with Quatro (2 different kinds), than went to a Wisp nasal mask, and have wanted to try the pillows. But I haven't yet because I can't decide between the P10 or the Nuance and one other one I can't remember the name of right now. I hate maki...

Re: Is it possible to sleep too much with CPAP? Newbie here

Since I started in December I average 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night. Much different than tossing and turning all night and waking up every 10 minutes and watching the clock. But I still get sleepy everyday in the afternoon and take a quick 15 minute power nap when I can. Masks are uncomfortable -...

better head gear for wisp

Have tried 3 ffm (Quartro) and am now using the Wisp which I do like but HATE the head gear and the straps on my face. Is there any other head gear that can be used with the Wisp. Still thinking about getting pillow type but am hesitant about the tubes in my nostrils after some things I have read. I...

phillips respironics sleep mapper

Somehow I must have set my time period to end at Feb. 26, so I am not getting anything on my sleep mapper. How do I extend time frame to go longer than the days I previously set??

Re: Noises from face mask

I tried two full facial masks and had the same problem. If I even moved my head a tiny bit the mask would start making that noise. Someone recommended the Wisp nasal mask and I now use that. It fits much better, I can even sleep on my side without it moving.

Re: EEK Spider in Nasal Mask !!

Oh my gosh, I have never thought of that. I will turn air on before connecting to mask to hopefully blow any and everything out of tube, and will stuff cotton in open end everyday.

Re: pros and cons of soft pillow vs nasal masks

Thanks for all the information. I am leaning toward a Nuance fabric.

pros and cons of soft pillow vs nasal masks

In the past 2 months I have used a full facial mask, then a smaller facial mask, then went to the Wisp and am now thinking of going to something like Nuance soft pillow. My sleep is much improved with all but keep having to adjust often even the Wisp. Anyone have an opinion of the pillow vs nasal ma...
