Re: my power will be off for a whole night

Did you mean 8PM to 5AM? In that case with no other options you could getting some sleep earlier in the day and then staying up until the power comes back. There's a good chance they won't have it off for the entire time they're stating either, maybe you'll get lucky and whatever they're doing will ...

Re: CPAP expected life span

Resmed on the other hand uses a 24V supply - so you need a 12V to 24V converter or an inverter to operate the CPAP. Checking this out some time back the Resmed DC input power supply for battery use operated off 12V or 24V input. It was a bit bulkier than the Respironics DC power adapter cord which ...

Re: Shortness of breath

... We live in a throw away world and we're killing it with plastic, etc... ... "We" are killing the world with plastics that don't wind up in a sanitary landfill, and those that aren't recycled into other usable products. If I were tossing my tank in a river after 6 months that would be the story ...

Re: Shortness of breath

Just wondering - did this symptom start early on or is it recent? I'm only asking because I wonder if you've replaced the humidifier reservoir. They seem to recommend 6 months interval for replacing the reservoir. You will see occasional reports of science projects in them after a much shorter time ...

Re: CPAP expected life span

Manufacturer's warranty on these looks to be 2 years, so yours is a bit long in the tooth. If it were me I would be on the lookout for the replacement and retire the S8 to backup status when I found it. 5 years of use seems to come up alot for replacement interval but it all depends on your plan. It...

Re: DME changed settings over modem?!?!

... As for the hacking, there are plenty of twits out there who would hack into their systems and start tinkering with people's CPAP settings just for "fun." CPAP is probably not a particularly attractive target for such people. Hacking is usually about money these days, but pointless hacking is st...

Re: DID YOUR SLEEP REPORT SAY HYPOXEMIC RESPIRATORY FAILURE?

Oh my... you accidentally hit the cap button. That's a big offense around here. Do it again and you'll likely be banned! How absolutely ridiculous that people actually made a big deal over it. I hope you figure out quickly who to take advice from and who to keep far, far away from. Stop exaggeratin...

My drowning/running/suffocating nightmares came to an end the very first night. ... Never had the nightmares, but I can say I went from getting up once or twice every night to pass water to 0. Re: Here are my stats and a new journey begins tomorrow

Hello all, I had lately been waking up feeling suffocated. I can remember at least three times in the past six months. It usually occurs when I go to bed after a few drinks. ... I have wondered how much of the "hangover" experience for drinkers in general is actually the result of apneas occurring ...

Re: Done with APRIA!!!

I recently fired my DME (not Apria). My insurance carrier changed a little more than halfway through a rent to own deal. I was told it was a 10 month rent to own deal. Then I was told it was a 13 month deal. DME quoted a price a few hundred $$ above what it should have been to pay off the used machi...

... I thought it was just my clinic that was full of it but I guess other clinics are the same. ... So what was your AHI? When that number exceeds 30 it's classified as severe. Re: Finally got prescription. A few newbie questions

Don't forget - the prescription and your medical records are your property. You are entitled to a copy of the Rx and any study results etc. This gives you a bit of market power if your DME turns out to be "less than ideal". Get copies of this stuff now so you don't have to jump through hoops later on.
