Re: New Camper - Need Help Learning About Batteries
Make sure you have spare fuses of correct type and amperage for anything that has fuses in it, like the cigarette lighter adapters for example. Your batteries should arrive with plenty of charge, I would think 80% or more. If they discharge below 50% either on the shelf in a warehouse or during use ...

Re: New Camper - Need Help Learning About Batteries
1. Search the forum for threads on this, there are many. 2. I use AGM. More expensive than regular flooded lead acid car type battery, but allegedly provides more charge cycles, more tolerant if deep discharged (but avoid that anyways) and no leaking fluids. Overcharging will kill them quickly - the...

Re: Has anyone used the C100 lithium battery
I tried one and it was a dud. Wound up sending it back for refund - I was not willing to try another. There's an awful lot of energy stored in those cells and I didn't trust a model that was basically DOA and would not accept a charge out of the box. I am pretty much car camping or relying on batter...

DME one track mind
So I got a letter from the DME I fired over 6 months ago informing me that they have been bought out by one of the bigger fish (two months ago) but don't worry, I'll still get the outstanding service I've come to expect, blah blah blah. The funny part is even though it's just a one page letter it ar...

Re: Why are people in denial?
I think that there are still too many doctors that think sleep apnea is just a consequence of overweight and loosing weight cures the sleep apnea. Another thing is that too many people think that sleep apnea is just a comfort issue. My doctor really had nothing to do with me getting a diagnosis and...

Re: What does the sleep doc do long-term?
I diagnosed myself and went for an intitial visit, then a sleep study mainly for confirmation I had this condition. My sleep doctor highlights: - After my sleep study was kept waiting over a month for a followup appointment where I was told I had a really severe case of OSA (AHI > 100). - Another we...

Re: Sleepyhead and Windows 10
Do yourself a favor and wait a year if you really want Windows 10. I got stuck with a laptop and Windows Vista when it was brand new and it was a PITA. After one or two service packs it was OK, but I know I don't need that headache again and you probably don't either.

One Year tonight
Tonight is night #365 since I started CPAP, missed two nights in total in that time. Me and my machine got along well from the start. I'm fortunate to have missed out on some of the tougher challenges I read about here and got my AHI down in the sub 1.0 range from untreated 100+. Along the way I hav...

Re: Partially off topic: electricty and power surges
Likely Palerider is correct that the power bricks are not quite right. Power Supplies in any computer tend to go bad after two years or so, capacitors get old. ... I can't disagree more about the life span of power supplies. I have an original OEM power supply in a computer that was recently retire...

Re: script questions
Mine has the refill area totally blank, does not mention "lifetime need" or "99 months" or anything specific other than pressure and it's been accepted. Maybe there are states where the expiration is an issue? Either way they (cpap.com) will let you know if there's a problem. You can also buy "mask ...

Re: Which battery power for Phillips/Res System One
The Poweradd Pilot Pro was a dud for me. Unless you really need the light weight and portability/compactness of these lithium ion battery packs, you can get along with something more clunky for a little less money.

Re: Real cost of machine
Are they asking you to make up the difference? Usually, the insurance sends out an EOB statement telling what the provider is allowed to bill you, if they're "in network." No makeup, they've been paid the agreed upon amount by the insurer and this is a three months old outstanding co-pay amount. Th...

Re: Real cost of machine
I just got the "final" bill from my former DME. I fired them in January 2015. This is for supplies provided in first half of December 2014. My insurer had paid them before the end of that month and it took this DME almost four months to send me a bill for the co-pay amount. A few of the highlights: ...

Re: Real cost of machine
My first DME tried to get me to pay several hundred more than the going price to buy a CPAP machine they had provided me under a rent to own contract a few months earlier (insurance changed mid-contract). When I called them out on it they chose to take it back rather than bill me a more reasonable a...

Re: ResMed AirFit F10 with beard
I've used mine only a few times when totally congested. Had a few large leaks with it but I think with some tweaking it would be much better. Worth a try. I think it depends quite a bit on the beard in question.
