Re: insurance only paying part of supplies
The 2 most important pieces to change are the cushion and the disposable filter. My disposable filter is a little block of foam no more than an inch on a side. When I saw the cost of new filters, I bought a simple kitchen stainless steel mesh strainer. The filter goes in the strainer, I hit it with...

Re: Mask question: Airfit F10 Full Face Mask
The 431 is one of the ffm's I have thought about trying. I have jaw drop that makes these newer masks sometimes slide onto my lips Jaw drop might be just the thing with the 431. Sometimes I can stop a leak by thrusting my lower jaw forward a bit. Of course, then I fall asleep and my jaw relaxes and...

Re: Mask question: Airfit F10 Full Face Mask
... you are right to have concern about the arms. I have found that the even though the F10 is a great cushion the frame features are more designed for supine. Thanks for the detailed evaluation. With almost every mask I have tried, some component of the frame contacted the pillow with side sleepin...

Mask question: Airfit F10 Full Face Mask
I am thinking of trying the ResMed Airfit F10 Full Face Mask, because I have seen several postings that say it works well with a (reasonable) beard. I sleep on my side a lot, and I wonder if the upper plastic arms of the mask, that attach to the headgear, wouldn't push the mask to the side and break...

Re: High leakage or machine malfunction?
There should always be some leakage. It is an important part of the mask design, it keeps you from re-breathing your own air and suffocating. The leakage should be through vent holes in the mask, not around the seal. ... Is this a new issue? Yes, I taped over half the vent holes in the mask and cou...

Re: High leakage or machine malfunction?
First of all, there is no "ResMed M Series" … the "pressure" will NOT increase. The machine will try to increase the output/flow of air to maintain the pressure it was set to or last putting forth (in the case of Auto machines). Sorry. REMStar M Series Auto with AFlex. I meant, the machine would in...

Re: High leakage or machine malfunction?
Nope. Once in a great while I will see leakage in the 60s, and then the pressure numbers go up to 12.5 or 13.0.LSAT wrote:If the machine ALWAYS shows a pressure of 12, perhaps it is set on CPAP and not Auto.
What leakage numbers do you typically see (if your machine shows them)?

High leakage or machine malfunction?
I have an older Resmed M Series autopap with humidifier. I use a full face mask. I feel very little air leakage around the edges of the mask. If I press the mask against my arm so there is NO leakage, I don't hear any air escaping from the tubing or within the machine -- it is very quiet. But weekly...
