Re: Upgrade CPAP machine advice
Hi all you lovely people. I promised to write back after Easter, but it took a bit longer to arrange everything. I have now resolved the issue. I am changing hospitals. I am changing to a hospital that supplies newer machines. I have just been in contact with them and on monday I am going to collec...

Re: Upgrade CPAP machine advice
Thank you Dog slobber for the additional comment. I am seriously considering the "for her"-version. Only issue is that I would have to buy the air sense 10 myself. I have checked with resmed here in Denmark and the local price is $1230, which is a bit steep. Ordering it from abroad will probably be ...

Re: Upgrade CPAP machine advice
Thank you all for your answers and inputs.
I will have a chat with the public health service to see if they plan on introducing more up-to-date CPAP machines any time soon. If the say no, I am leaning towards buying the Airsense 10 (for her)

Re: Upgrade CPAP machine advice
Thank you for the answer Pugsy. You are right, I could go with both and see which one works better. Regarding unlocking the system. I considered that when I first joined this forum, but I was told by the public health services that it would be considered a breach of compliance if I did it. :-( I rea...

Upgrade CPAP machine advice
Hello everyone I was diagnosed with sleep apnea five years ago and I have been using the old " Philips System One REMstar Auto with A-Flex " since then. I never sleep without it. In my country (Denmark) this machine is the default treatment equipment that the public health system provides for you. T...

Re: thank you for being here
I finally got around to look into the settings. Apparently the hospital has set a very limited number of features I can meddle with Unfortunately "Ramp time" and "Ramp pressure" settings have been disabled by the medical staff. All I can do is turn the ramp background light on and off... how sad is ...

Re: thank you for being here
Sorry for late reply. After two nights with completely dried up sinuses and morning nose bleedsI get your point about the humidifier. That has first priority when I see the doctor next. I am going to change the ramp settings as you suggested. I am finding it hard to breathe at 4 cm h2o.

Re: thank you for being here
Hi guys As promised, I am checking in with the report for the first night on "the apparatus". I went to bed at around 11 PM. I have clean my face as per the instruction from the doctor. Initially I got 2,5 hours of sleep and woke up at 1:30 AM with a bit of a mask leak. The machine was definitely a ...

Re: thank you for being here
I appreciate your points Sleeprider and I will make sure to be more insisting with the doctor. I have an appointment for a compliance check-up and data analysis two months from now. Up until then I have a humidifier in my bedroom that I could use to set the general humidity in the room. I come from ...

Re: thank you for being here
Thanks for the heads-up Sleeprider. I will keep your points in mind for when I speak with the doctor again. Their main reason for not giving me the humidifier ( Yes, I asked if I could have one) was that they wanted my sinuses to adjust to the airflow. Again, I am a newbie and decided "to play ball"...
