Thanks everyone! I don't know why I didn't think you could buy them on eBay. Good to know.
I had checked Craigslist, and found someone had the full mask, but they wanted waaaay too much, and I didn't want to drive 2 hours for it.

Re: Temporary Repair?
Duct tape worked! Nice and quiet last night. Even if I have to put new on each day (there were some spots where it wasn't sticking really well), I know it will at least get us through the night.

Re: Temporary Repair?
That's what I suspected. I'll give his mask a really good clean tonight to make sure there is zero oil on it, and go the duct tape route. Hopefully will hold us until the new cushion gets here in a week or so......

Temporary Repair?
My husband lost his job last July, and with it went our good insurance. We had to go on mine at work, and it sucks. $10,000 deductible - they don't even start kicking things in until we hit $3000 - everything is out of pocket. With him not working, I just don't have the money to pay these bills. I'm...

Re: Drooling/Lip Buzzing/Noise
Hey guys - sorry for the late response. He decided to call the sleep med doctor. They asked him to come in. His machine reads like nothing is wrong but he is just exhausted all the time. He got concerned when he felt like he could doze off while driving. So, he's been scheduled for a new sleep study...

Re: Drooling/Lip Buzzing/Noise
Interesting. Not sure how quickly he might grind through that mouthpiece, unless it's really sturdy. He tried pillows once before but he has a high pressure setting, and he said he had difficulty with them. Still, I'll show it to him.

Re: Drooling/Lip Buzzing/Noise
He has a mask similar to that - it's the one he preferred before he switched over the Wisp. Funny enough, he only switched over because it was the one originally assigned to me when I first got my machine, and I had to go back 2 days later and ask for something different because I couldn't keep my m...

Re: Drooling/Lip Buzzing/Noise
I'll check it when I get home. I know when he goes to the DME, they have to use a special card reader. The card looks like a credit card. It affects me some, but it affects him much more. He's cranky and says he's constantly tired. Some nights, I can hear him in the living room if he's gone to bed b...

Re: Drooling/Lip Buzzing/Noise
This looks like his machine. I can't guarantee this is the exact model, but it looks like this. It's not an auto pap - it's fixed pressure.

Drooling/Lip Buzzing/Noise
My husband and I are both CPAP users. He's been on since 2007. I am 99% sure his machine is the Respironics RemStar (it's an older machine). For the past 8-9 months, he's been having issues with excessive drooling, lip buzzing, snoring like noises, and exhaling through is mouth. He uses the Wisp mas...

Re: Home sleep study-- option with EKG / EMG and other data
I did the NovaSom. I have issues with insomnia, and would never have been able to sleep in a lab. It had 3 things that took readings: One that went under the nose One that went around the chest One that went on the finger The "unit" that all of those sensors plug into is worn on the arm. If you knoc...

Re: Cat Chewing....
Thanks for all the good ideas! I think I'm going to try the sock first - simplest - and go from there. I was actually removing the hose and putting it on top of the laundry sorter - she can't get up there, and even if she would manage to get there from the dresser (highly unlikely), the top was made...

Cat Chewing....
Not on the hose itself, but on the rubber tip. When we lived in our old house, she chewed off all of the rubber ends on the doorstops, and we had to replace them all with hard plastic, which she'd gnaw on, but not ruin. We moved in July. I first noticed it last month. She chewed on the end of the ho...

Re: Amara View
Mine came with a plastic thing and I'm between small and medium. Respironics says to go up a size, but that didn't work for me. I had to go back down.

Re: Amara View
Got the liner yesterday. Bless Pad-A-Cheek for getting it to me quickly. What a difference! No face farts. No loud hissing. I could sleep on my side without issue. And the occasional pinch to the underside of my nose from that piece of the cushion behind the nose hole was non-existent. My mask fit w...
