Taking Mask Off In My Sleep

After two weeks of successful use, I woke up this morning to find my machine turned off and the mask on the bed next to me. I have no memory of taking it off, much less turning off the machine. Anyone else experience this? What did you do to stop it?

Re: Odd Question About CPAP Dreaming

Lol My Kindle corrects CPAP to crap all the time. Kind of fitting considering how horrible my first mask was! =)

I'm loving these dreams, I used to get ideas from dreams all the time for characters/places/plots for my writing. Can't remember when I remembered dreams from two nights in a row!

Odd Question About CPAP Dreaming

Has anyone else noticed a difference in dreams - frequency, clarity, and remembering - since starting CPAP? For the past three nights I have had very vivid dreams that I remember when I wake up and retain in memory. Before, I would maybe once a month or so remember I had a dream, but rarely anything...

Re: Chest Pain Upon Waking

Sorry, I should have been more clear. My Afib is very mild and well controlled with medication, also,I can tell when I am having an Afib episode and this feeling is nothing at all like it. The feeling I have had is more like the chest pain I used to have after a night of heavy smoking (no, I no long...

Re: Chest Pain Upon Waking

Thanks, that's a relief! I also have atrial fibrillation so anything with the chest sets off my paranoid-hypochondria button.

Chest Pain Upon Waking

I have finally gotten to a point where I am sleeping for several hours at a time with my cpap, now I have noticed I have chest pain and a strange breathless feeling when I first wake. It has been going away within an hour or so. I am wondering, is this just my body getting used to the machine, or so...

Re: Insomnia

I've only taken the ambien a couple times. My family has a history of dependence so I am very, very, careful and use it as a last ditch effort. Ambien has gotten a lot of bad press in recent years, but as long as it is used sparingly, not mixed with alcohol or other drugs and carefully monitored by ...

Re: Insomnia

There are lots of risks with Sleep Apnea. High Blood Pressure, Fatigue (which can cause other accidents like falling, motor vehicle etc...)heart problems, liver problems, complications with medications and surgery, diabetes, depression, and like you said, stroke. So your mom needs to be treated. I c...

Re: Couple of questions...

Ahead on that one ... I have it on a low shelf on my nightstand and she can't get to the power button. Lol It protects the machine well, but I do worry about the future of the hose, was thinking about crocheting it a long "sock" to put over it.

Couple of questions...

My cat is freaked out by my mask and won't come near me when I have it on, I like having her with me at night, particularly as her purring helps me fall asleep. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it? Also, pillows - how much elevation is best when using CPAP or is it better to be co...

Re: Brand new user with sore nose!

I had some success last night, I was able to get to sleep, I didn't sleep through without waking up a couple times, but it was a little better.

Re: Brand new user with sore nose!

Thanks, I'll try messing with it tonight again. I did manage to get it in a semi comfortable position a bit ago, guess we will see when I try to sleep if it stays comfortable. Could I ask about the best pillow position, slight elevated or totally flat? Is it easier to adapt on the back or the side? ...

Re: Brand new user with sore nose!

Yes, MsCJBC is a female, no surgery was involved, and my having given birth assures me that my parents weren't keeping a surgical secret from me. Lol

I am using a Mirage Softgell mask.

Brand new user with sore nose!

Hi there! I was diagnosed last week with severe OSA and put on a CPAP with a nasal mask. I am not tech minded and all this is new to me, so I'll do my best to make sense. I am having massive trouble getting a good fit. The mask feels nice and comfy while sitting up but as soon as I lie down the mask...
