Update: Mom' extensive cognitive testing showed she probably has Alzheimer's dementia and has been taking Aricept and will be replacing that with Namenda soon. This certainly explains so much of what I have been dealing with and why she was not able to understand the importance of wearing the bipap ...

She thinks she's a side sleeper but when I stayed with her in Fla. for 5 weeks, helping to prepare her house for sale, she often starts on her back saying her prayers and would fall asleep and her mouth would come wide open. And when she stopped breathing for such a long time, she looked frightening...

Need to help Mom wear her bipap
Mom's equipment is ResMed Mirage Quattro Full face mask & ResMed VPAP S9 Pressure started at 20/16, lowered twice (by doctor's orders to possibly help her wear it longer) Now at 16/12. My mother is 79 and has severe apnea. Dr. said "central". She's 5 feet tall weighs 123# (not or weight). Her sleep ...
