Re: Cat bites mask/hose and turns off machine
Why go to all these extreme measures when all you have to do is put a lock on the door to keep the cat from pushing it open, seems like the easiest solution to me.

Re: What happens when I go on medicare in a couple of months?
I have Medicare and a secondary also, once I pay my $147 deductible for the year the rest is taken care of. My husband has a different secondary than me, pays a bit more per month and they take care of the deductible.

Re: annoyed with my therapy need to whine
I don't know how tired you are but In my opinion if you are so tired you are falling asleep at the wheel you shouldn't be driving at all, for your sake and the sake of others. For the leaks have you tried chin up strips? They work great for me. http://www.drugstore.com/chin-up-strip-for-dry-mouth-a...

Re: Teeth chipping off and sleep apnea
It sounds like you are noticing the teeth chipping off at NIGHT, not during the day. So I would highly suspect teeth clenching and grinding to be the culprit. The force exerted is extremely strong on teeth. A nighttime mouthguard made by a dentist would protect your teeth.

Re: Weight loss to get rid of sleep apnea?
Weight loss does get rid of the OSA for some people. My daughter lost 100pds + and no longer has Sleep Apnea. The only way to find out is lose it and get retested. Either way you come out ahead if you lose the excess weight.

Re: New to CPAP and Switching from FFM to Pillows
If the chin strap isn't doing it you might want to try these http://www.drugstore.com/chin-up-strip-for-dry-mouth-and-snoring-tan-horseshoe-shape-22230/qxp78114 here's a video on how to apply them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dy96tt480pE They are the only thing that worked for me and you can use...

Re: Sick and Scared
Hi, so I have frequent bronchitis due to lung damage. Bronchitis is an inflammatory reaction to excessive coughing which irritates the airways. The very best thing you can do to improve bronchitis is to stop the coughing in any way possible. Antibiotics will help if the underlying cause is bacteria...

Re: Sick and Scared
Your doctor probably suspects the airflow from the CPAP is irritating your airways. Bronchitis causes the airways to become swollen making them sensitive to cool, dry air which can cause you to cough. Although most CPAP's are used with a heated humidifier, the air cools and the moister is lost as i...

Re: Sick and Scared
I'm not sure why your doc wants you to stop using it. In late April of 2011, I had pneumonia, was in the hospital for about 5 days and kept using mine......taking some of the drugs you mentioned. I would THINK it would be better if you kept using it. Maybe if you're talking to your doctor, ask him ...

Re: Sick and Scared
Yes I've tried Julie, it doesn't help. I wish it did. I'm just so confused about whether to use it or not. I don't want this bronchitis or whatever it is to get worse and I've been fighting it for over a month now while on cpap and I'm just not getting any better, it sucks. I feel super stressed not...

Sick and Scared
First i want to say that I am not someone who wants to stop CPAP. I know how I felt before I started three months ago and how I felt after using it. The difference was like night and day. I wasn't waking up with headaches anymore, I could go through the day without taking naps, I wasn't miserable an...
