I had a Simplus for a while and had the same problem. Next was a Mirage Quattro. Didn't leak so much but caused neck pain.
Now I have a Quattro Air. It's a lot better. Much more comfortable and very few problems with leaks.

Vitamin D is also linked to peripheral neuropathy, so that might help.Rocketshan wrote:I could probably stand to take my Vitamin D, so I will start that back up again.

Re: Poll - Which OSA treatment would you try?
I thought the stent sounded the most interesting of the 3 until I followed the link and saw it doesn't reduce AHI enough to be worthwhile. I'd stick with CPAP for now.

Re: first night with machine
Yes it is.
For me it got better on it's own over time. I think it's part of getting used to CPAP.
It's called aerophagia, if you want to search this forum or google it. Here''s a link to the wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerophagia.
Good luck,
Pete

Re: Sleepyhead Question about Snoring
You may have finally cracked the VS numbers' puzzle. I will analyze my own data and report back. Hopefully some other members here can evaluate their own data and report. If this works out, then Jedimark can use this information in the next release of SH. Cool, I look forward to seeing if your data...

Re: Did anyone have numbness prior to OSA treatment? PS I'm New
I didn't have any numbness before OSA treatment but I did read somewhere that OSA can be a factor in peripheral neuropathy which can cause pain and/or numbness.
Good luck
Pete.
Good luck

Re: Accident prone (please read please)
Personally, I'd increase more gradually than that. When I first started with sleepyhead and advice from here I was also hoping to find the magic pressure settings straight away. Since then I've realised it's more of a long term process as each time I change the pressure it takes a while for me to ge...

Now my mother has jumped into the fray now: Mom: "do you think you need to see a psychologist to help deal with the problems in your life?" Me: "what are the problems in my life?" Mom: "you know... The incidents last week..." BTW, i have sleep doc's permission to crank up pressure to see if I'm sti...

Re: OSA and high altitude
An AHI of 19.5 is considered moderate. The scale goes mild - 5 to 15 moderate - 15 to 30 severe - above 30 In this topic - http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t42831/Altitude-equivalent-of-CPAP-pressure.html Wulfman says: If you have the REMstar Pro 2 (as listed in your profile), it DOES have altitude...

Re: Sleepyhead Question about Snoring
If we assume that 1) the number in Brackets is no. Of snores in a 2 minute period. 2) And you can only snore once every breath. you show an event with 32 snores in your SH list. Is this consistent with your respiratory rate in that period ? Are you taking 16+ breaths a minute during that 2 minute t...

Re: Sleepyhead Question about Snoring
what are you basing this belief on? I'm not arguing, just inquiring as to whether there's any evidence, or if it's just purely conjecture. Looking at my own data, I noticed... 1. The VS2 event flags never get closer than 2 minutes apart. http://i.imgur.com/4rzYWEX.jpg http://i.imgur.com/VsmO7Oq.jpg...

Re: Sleepyhead Question about Snoring
Why would Encore define the VSI (Vibratory Snore Index) in this way? I have no idea. Mathematically it makes no sense. If the snores are being scored as "discrete" events (the same way the Flow Limitations are scored as "discrete events") then the intuitive meaning of VSI would be the average numbe...
