Re: Endoscopy and colonoscopy safety for cpap patients
Overall I believe anesthesiologists (as arrogant as they sometimes are) are well equipped to deal with your concerns, so having one present is probably a good idea. I had 4 surgeries (TKR,CTR) where I described my informal diagnosis of sleep apnea and also my "myclonal twitches". Both the surgeons a...

Interpreting PO2 report
I just got a CMS-50F recording pulse oximeter and am looking at my first Spo2 Assistant report. How do I interpret the chart? Are there any guidelines? I see mostly 93-94% with a few spikes down to 90 and one down to 87. Pulse is steady at 58. I wanted to include a screen capture but could not figur...

Re: Could Apnea Be Causing my Daytime Symptoms?
Ryan, Try a neti pot - sometimes up to 5 times a day, but generally once in the morning, and after any heavy dust/allergen/pollution exposure. Make your own saline with warm distilled water. Never use chlorinated water. Very cheap, very easy to use, very effective. The very effective and simple Wate...

Re: Newly Diagnosed and very angry
The folks on this forum seem to be the only people that know anything about CPAP. Doctor's office makes various self-contradictory statements about pretty much every aspect of the process - how sleep studies work, how the cpap will be delivered and demonstrated to me, who will provide support, and h...

Re: battery powered backup
Did the manufacturer say their device required a "full sine wave" inverter? Some electrical devices are intolerant of cheaper "modified sine wave" inverters. Sometimes the voltage of modified sine waves appears way high, sometimes way low, always electrically very noisy. On RV forums, there are plen...

Re: Noobie needs encouragement
Thanks to all posters and PM-ers for your insights and encouragement. I have spent several hours reading the various tutorials and feel a lot more confident that this will all work out (unlike most mainstream medical care in America). I decided to proceed with the formal sleep lab study and I will c...

Noobie needs encouragement
I've been told for years I am suffering seriously from OSA - terrbile sleep, always tired, etc. Finally unstubborned enough to schedule a sleep study. I think my insurance will pay, but my primary concern is that I get quality care in terms of the sleep study, doctor's interpretation, purchase of a ...
