I would still go to urgent care.....bring the mask, just so that dr can also see if its a pressure injury.
I wear a wisp(average headed female) and it doesn't rest on my ears, so i do think you either need a totally different mask, or at least a different frame size.

Re: What was the benefit of a home sleep test?
If I had to do this anyway, what was the point in the home test?! because the home test is a lot cheaper to find out whether you need the pressure determination session. some more forward thinkng insurance companies just send you home with an auto machine and let you figure it out for yourself. Min...

Re: The risk of dying from sleep apnea
Lets just say I personally know someone who is now taking care of her brother, 24-7.... He is in congestive heart failure with a very short time left to live. His Dr's flat out told them that the major factor in this is untreated sleep apnea. Thanks but I will wear my mask, if it's all the same to y...

Re: a few cosmetic problems
Pardon the implication that you do not already do this...but if your skin is being irritated from the straps....perhaps washing the headgear more often might change things for the better. make sure you use soap that you use elsewhere on your body.....so that you know its not causing a new reaction.....

Re: Travel machine - do I need another prescription?
I want to buy a second machine for backup and travel purposes. My prescription is a lifetime prescription for APAP, masks, supplies, etc. I bought my first machine from CPAP.com a few weeks ago. If I want to buy a second machine, can I do that with my existing prescription, or will I need another p...

Re: Travel machine - do I need another prescription?
Their policy is on their website. https://www.cpap.com/cpap-faq/Prescriptions.html Basically you need to have an RX for the type of machine (not brand Per se). They have a whole section on the various types of CPAP/BiLevel/ASV etc.. machines. oh cool.....*slaps her own wrist for not looking first* ...

Re: sick for a month could not use cpap
When I get bronchitis, I wish I could spend 24/7 on my CPAP. It's the only time I'm NOT coughing and I feel comfortable. I set the humidity up and actually sleep now that I have CPAP. Before CPAP it meant several nights in the recliner NOT sleeping. This. Sleeping is the only time I am totally with...

Re: pressure and plugged ears
The sensation of plugged ears is less likely to be related to cpap use than to a middle ear problem. --possibly an infection. Can you visit an ENT? My CPAP sometimes pushes air into my ears like flying in an airplane or going up and down in the mountain. It does give a plugged ear feeling. This hap...

Re: Do I need a CPAP?
I can understand this feeling.... I started CPAP just over two weeks ago, and have AHI from about 2 down to .078 with the machine, and its mostly staying at 5 or 6 pressure wise...... This made me feel like things were not -bad- and that the Dr would want his machine back, because I did not need it....

You can do it! One thing that someone here recommended and its cheap enough to not break the bank, yet make a huge difference is a hose holder. I got this one, http://www.amazon.com/North-American-Healthcare-JB5651-Holder/dp/B0034CHMRU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418089223&sr=8-1&keywords=cpap+hose+hold...

Re: OSA and soreness
in another thread you started you said this...
' I work out 5 days a week, a mix of cardiovascular and lifting routines. I have been doing this since August.'
So is it possible that your workouts are adding to the soreness?
