Life After CPAP -
Anyone read this e-book that you can get on Amazon Kindle? Given all the issues I'm having with CPAP, it wasn't something I should have read. Paints a bleak picture of CPAP -

Re: About 3 months in........
Did your oxygen levels drop pre cpap therapy when you were untreated? If they did and with a lower AHI now...the prevention of oxygen starvation to your vital organs is a benefit even if you don't perceive feeling better and are actually sleeping worse. I do understand what you are saying and feeli...

Re: About 3 months in........
Careful...I might just start feeling brilliant here, if people start agreeing with me. So...maybe it's not a BAD thing that you're breathing deeper now. It feels "wrong" because you aren't used to it, but getting enough air to let your body relax as you sleep can't be a BAD thing. I had many aches ...

Re: About 3 months in........
Are you normally such a shallow breather that therapy is simply making you breathe more deeply all the time? This is a great way to describe it - yes. I've always been a shallow mouth breather to the point that it's caused chronic neck pain for 9+ years. My journey began when I made the connection ...

Re: About 3 months in........
when you put the nasal pillows on your nose, there is no "concentrated stream of air". there's just the pressure to hold your throat open, and then the air flows in and out of your nose, just like normal without the cpap... no stream, just a little pressure to help you live. Thanks for the lesson -...

What are the settings in your machine (pressure, humidity, exhale relief, etc.)

Pressure @ 9, flex disabled (just recently), humidity@3.

Re: About 3 months in........
Don't want to . . . BREATHE? You cannot really mean that! The alternative would be . . . very quiet I would suggest a mask liner, but they don't make them for pillows--maybe a barrel cozy? Pardon the ignorance, but what would liners have to do with my daytime breathing? Oh, come on.......you don't ...

and think I'm about to give up. CPAP is causing so many issues with my breathing during the day (over breathing and feeling like I'm being forced to breathe when I don't want to) that I don't think I can do it anymore. My ENT thinks it's anxiety, which may be the case. However, I've never had the is...

Re: Question about C-Flex setting and hyperventilation
I looked at another of your posts at a screen shot then. My question is what are your pressure settings? I think you were changing your maximum when your minimum was pretty low. It is the minimum that is most important in APAP mode and that may be why your are having events. Please verify settings ...

Re: Question about C-Flex setting and hyperventilation
I think flex and EPR are one of those things you simply have to try and see how it works for you. As for hyperventilation, maybe it makes some people exhale and inhale more deeply due to the pressure change. Well, I'm apparently one of those that is negatively affected using the comfort settings - ...

Re: Question about C-Flex setting and hyperventilation
I've seen some posts that insinuated that C-Flex has the potential to cause hyperventilation in a small population of CPAP users. Assuming I didn't misunderstand, what's the reason that this would happen? I have no idea and I don't recall reading those posts. But, I suppose with certain pressure se...

Vocal Cord Dysfunction
As some may recall, I've been having issues with breathing during the day since I started CPAP (tightness in my neck and shortness of breath). After all tests were negative at a recent ER visit, I started wondering if Ambien was causing an issue, so I stopped taking it, only to find that my symptoms...

Resistance Settings
What negative effects if any can the use of the resistance settings have on your numbers/therapy? And if there are any negative effects, why?
