Re: i smother on my cpap
Which description fits what you mean when you say that you can't breathe? It's important to distinguish what you mean because the fixes of these two problems are very, very different: 1) If the problem is not enough air coming through the mask, the usual fix is to stop using the ramp (if you are us...

Re: Technical questions on Sleep Master & SleepyHead
I still haven't figured out my Sleepyhead technical problem, but I've recreated my old settings in the only profile that doesn't crash the software, so I'll consider that problem solved. Now Sleep Master isn't working -- thanks for that URL, it has some ideas that may help me get it back up and runn...

Technical questions on Sleep Master & SleepyHead
I've been using SleepyHead for about a year and have become pretty confident about how it works. Sleep Master's concept of letting me pull the data from my CPAP machine without removing the SD card sounded too good to be true, so naturally I had to try it! My first Flashair SD card turned out to be ...

Re: Sharing a possible solution to sleeping on your back
After six months someone here told about using a spinal collar. So I tried it instead of the backpack and I can now sleep in any position and get a low AHI. The spinal collar is easier to carry on trips and it gets no funny looks from TSA like the backpack did. Can you describe your 'spinal collar'?

Re: Is it OK to put drops in water of the humidifier?
Isn't it possible that my lungs could take a drop or two of hydrogen peroxide or vinegar or even bleach in the water without harm? Maybe the peroxide would keep the water cleaner longer so I wouldn't have to clean so often A drop of bleach directly in the humidifier would be WAY too much bleach; I'...

Re: How sleeping positions helps AHI numbers
Yes, gravity does work but head posture probably has more of an effect on compliance of the airway. If one extends the neck (tilts head backwards), it will tend to stretch the airway and reduce airway compliance, resisting collapse. Vice-versa if you tilt your head forward. What does "compliance of...

Re: Therapy or Aflex Mode
I recently experimented with the A-flex setting for the first time. It was pre-set on 2; I decided to try it on 3. All I can say is, what took me so long??? I don't really understand it, but now I can exhale much more easily. I can't detect any difference in my therapy, either in how I feel during t...

Re: A better travel case for CPAP machines?
Thank you -- I wasn't aware of that! I've been traveling with the two halves of the machine connected. Maybe I've just been lucky not to have damaged anything. These camera cases come with a whole series of padded dividers that velcro to each other and to the inside of the case. I had moved all the ...

Re: A better travel case for CPAP machines?
I appreciate all the suggestions that others have made! For my purposes, the key feature is exceptional padding so that I'll have one less thing to worry about when navigating through airports and past TSA screeners, overworked gate agents, and inconsiderate passengers. The other key feature for me ...

Re: A better travel case for CPAP machines?
how are you measuring "tall" the PRS1 60 series is NOT 5.25" tall. tall is from the little rubber feet on the bottom to the top of the unit. according to the manual, it's 4" tall. are you measuring it front to back? My machine doesn't have rubber feet on the bottom (which I find odd). The 5.25" mea...

Re: A better travel case for CPAP machines?
As I've said previously, my CPAP is 5.25" tall -- that's its actual measurement -- identical to what the webpage says is the dimension of this case.the smallest dimension of the cpap case listed is 5.25", your cpap is 3.4" tall, that's up to 1.85" of padding in that padded case.

Re: A better travel case for CPAP machines?
have you even looked at what I posted??? "respironics cpap TRAVEL case? with the nice picture of the inside of it, showing the padding??? lots of room for hose and mask and such? I've read every word you posted, and followed that link and studied it carefully! Yes, the link says "Respironics CPAP T...

Re: A better travel case for CPAP machines?
however, the travel case that I linked to above *is* padded, and has a luggage handle strap to slip down over the handle of your roller case. I looked at that one first -- it must be for different machines. My CPAP's smallest dimension is 5.25". This case's smallest dimension is exactly the same; s...

Re: A better travel case for CPAP machines?
resmed is 6x5.5x3.4", and the prs1 is 7x5.5x4" the s9 humidifier is 6x5.7x3.4, and prs1 is a bit wider than the blower why not just go with the prs1 travel case linked a couple times above? cost? annoyance that it's an 'extra'? Thanks for the dimensions and explanation -- that's what I was afraid o...
