Re: Throat is growing wider and wider....
As always you've taught me a lot even made me smile.... I have a neck as good as any football player LOL & I think I'll look into the collar. Actually, the travel pillow is comfy most nites. I just thought I might be blowing up my airways with the pressure of both machines. I may have been known to ...

Throat is growing wider and wider....
Anyone experience the feeling like your throat is closing up.... I'm approaching 3 years on bipap w/02 piggybacked. And while I was kicking and screaming 3 years ago I am very responsible to my nightly therapy. I feel like my neck is growing to width of my shoulders. I now sleep with a travel pillow...

To those of us that desaturate....
Have you ever found out the root cause of your desaturation? I do use the supplemental o2 piggybacked to bipap... need a new oximetry test to see the result. Cardiology/pulmonary believe there appears to be a missing piece. They are looking at a PFO but it did not surface during ECHO bubble study. I...

Re: Transition from CPAP to BIPAP
It's not discouraging to me..... I listen and really learned more about this whole "sleep" process from each of you. That's how I tweaked the cpap for such a successful turnaround. I didn't have a titration process with the bipap ... so tweaks will be needed. Some will work and some won't .... but I...

Transition from CPAP to BIPAP
I'm struggling with all aspects of this change ... events are increasing - pain in the neck again - not feeling refreshed.... so if the events are increasing so too is the o2 desaturations I bet. One week in..... need to keep plugging. Merry Christmas

Re: Anyone with o2 Supplement..... my goal is to get rid of this
Thanks so much for your reply Alicia .... it's given me lots of thoughts to follow through especially regarding the desaturations that I too have. I had a pretty quick dx for COPD & need to get these lungs looked by a specialist - want to understand better about these tidal volumes. Just had a ECHO ...

Re: Anyone with o2 Supplement..... my goal is to get rid of this
meanwhile back at the oximeter.... my 2 night monitoring of my o2 went downhill fast... I must get anxious or plain nosey of what numbers are recording that in addition to forgetting to breath I forgot to sleep too... I don't know all the numbers that recorded but 80's for sure. In addition to that ...

Re: Anyone with o2 Supplement..... my goal is to get rid of this
14 days in using cpap and o2 supplement.....da da: 2.2 incidents average!!!! That's a long way from the second sleep study of 50.8. Now we're double checking the o2 .... wearing the pulse meter tonight - again. Think good thoughts....

Re: Anyone with o2 Supplement..... my goal is to get rid of this
Just being clear.... I do use the o2 at night. I recognize the %'s I had are nothing to fool with. However....I am "hoping" though once we get the cpap pressure regulated that I could get off of it. Just NOT doing the 24/7 bit.... not without a good fight.

Re: Anyone with o2 Supplement..... my goal is to get rid of this
Thank you... I do hear what you're saying & appreciate your knowledge... but I do understand where I'm going . Not everything makes sense to me at the moment ... no cough/pleghm but they call it COPD w/Advair rx [long time smoker quit 6 yrs ago], clear chest PA & LAT, echo and stress check ok - endu...

Re: Anyone with o2 Supplement..... my goal is to get rid of this
Da... didn't give any information did I...sorry. In August 2014 I had my 1st sleep study. I informed the tech that I just found out I had low o2. He said the hospital protocol was that they would administer o2 at a 75% reading..... I never got that low so alls well. Lights on.... it took me hours to...

Anyone with o2 Supplement..... my goal is to get rid of this
One week in.... the "events" were bad enough but #1 priority is the desaturations....O my. Will the CPAP eventually help me rid the need for o2. I'm only using at night..... not exactly what the doctor ordered if you know what I mean. Really needing to rid the weight and start moving again.... begin...
