Re: List of BIPAP machines with Backup rate?

I keep hearing and reading that they are 'different'. I understand that the ASV does some things that the ST does not do.
What I cannot figure out is what the ST is supposed to do that the ASV does NOT do.

Re: List of BIPAP machines with Backup rate?

Shane- Thank you for replying. I cannot find any current references to the PR BiPAP S/T #DS1060S on PR's website. I have found the machine in a few online dealers, often without a listed price. I do not fully understand the differences bewtween the PR System One ASV 960 and the PR BiPAP S/T #DS1060S...

Re: Things non-apnea people say.

"Apnea is just a scam for the doctors. What did people do before they had CPAP machines? "

Re: List of BIPAP machines with Backup rate?

Thanks so much for the info. I found a competitor's website that allowed me to search for machines by insurance code, the only two matches were the Resmed S9 ASV Adapt and the PR System One 960. I will take a crack at the clinical manuals tonight, but based on feedback the PR System One 960 is curre...

Re: List of BIPAP machines with Backup rate?

Thanks for the responses; I think most of my questions have been answered. At my first sleep study, it was determined that I was having a combination of OSA, CSA and complex apnea events. At my second sleep study (first titration) it was determined that at moderate CPAP pressures (15cm) almost all t...

Re: Hot tub

You won't be able to go very deep. At a pressure setting of 12, your machine could blow bubbles out of a hose submerged 12cm into the hot tub. That is a little under 5 inches. It might actually work, but you could seriously damage your machine or your mask and you might end up snoot full of water. O...

Re: Hello!

Where did you get the 40 AHI number? From the overnight pulse ox report? or a sleepy study? The 40 is about average for my overnight SPO2 events from my pulse oximeter. It is probably incorrect to call it an AHI. I did get a number from my first sleep study, it was higher, but I honestly do not rem...

Re: Hello!

One of the things that I am confused about is the differential diagnosis of OSA and CSA. This seems like a straight forward question, but I can't seem to get an answer with enough technical detail to satisfy me. Googling produces tons of web pages that explain the difference between the two. Occasio...

Hello!

Hello Everyone- My name is Charles. I have been lurking around here for several weeks. This is a great board, I have learned quite a lot. My dad was diagnosed with OSA years ago. He has gone from CPAP to surgery and now to a BiPAP machine. It has helped him quite a bit so I am somewhat familiar with...
