Re: Not possible to run Dreamstation auto BiPAP as an auto CPAP?
Sibbs, can you explain what kind of problems you're having with titration? You got a great machine that should be very comfortable and flexible in therapy, but you want to disable much of its capabilities. Why? Bipap on doc's settings -- (IMAX 18, EMIN 8, PS 4) and (IMAX 14, EMIN 4, PS 4) -- gave m...

Re: Not possible to run Dreamstation auto BiPAP as an auto CPAP?
I have a new dreamstation auto BiPAP that I've been having some challenges with getting titrated properly. I thought that in the meantime I could run it as an auto CPAP using my old settings, but was surprised to find that the clinical menu only allows it to be set as a CPAP with constant pressure ...

Re: Check my pressure support setting? (Bipap)
Another expert who has been immensely helpful suggested trying the PS max at 8 to give the machine more flexibility. I'm going to try that as well. Fun to learn a new machine.

Re: Check my pressure support setting? (Bipap)
They should both be set to 4. With your settings, you will have 12 - 18 cm H2O IPAP and 12 - 14 cm H2O EPAP. ah, not quite. IMAX 18, EMIN 8, PS 4. gives an ipap of 16-18, and an epap of 12-14 (probably just a typo on your part.) Help me learn more? My manual describes PS as the difference between I...

Re: Check my pressure support setting? (Bipap)
According to my DME my doc's script reads: IMAX 18, EMIN 8, PS 4. My DME is a stinker so I always check their work. Glad I did. They had both PSMIN and PSMAX set at 0. I just called and they said oops, both PSMIN and PSMAX should be set at 4. Does this intuitively make sense to have both min and ma...

Check my pressure support setting? (Bipap)
Longtime CPAP user who just switched to bipap. Just got a new Dreamstation autobipap. Want to make sure my DME set it up correctly. According to my DME my doc's script reads: IMAX 18, EMIN 8, PS 4. My DME is a stinker so I always check their work. Glad I did. They had both PSMIN and PSMAX set at 0. ...

Re: First night with CPAP….nostrils killing me!!! :(
I had the same experience when I started using my P10s. I thought "there's no way I'll ever adjust to it." I added lanisoh and that helped a little, but still had soreness. And then, after a few weeks, I adjusted and the stopped bothering me. My suspicion is that nostril skin toughens not dissimilar...

Go down about two-thirds of the way and there's a yellow donate button you need to click.
Everyone who uses it should donate, even if just a small amount.

Re: Dreamstation support coming soon to sleepyhead.
I'll be getting dreamstation auto BiPAP on Monday and I'm happy to feed you data via dropbox or email if you like. Just PM me.
Thank you so much for all your hard work on this. Sleepyhead data has been instrumental for working out some complex issues with my docs.

Re: cpap headgear for cervical neck issues
I have cervical issues and the P10 nasal mask / headgear in my signature is very comfortable.
It did take me a solid 2 weeks to get used to the feeling of the pillows in my nose, but after that fairly tough adjustment period they worked great. Your experience may vary, but I'm glad I stuck with it.

Re: Rules of thumb for incr. pressure--how much per day/week?
You have an auto machine...do you have it set to CPAP mode with a fixed pressure or do you have it set in a range and you are adjusting the lower number? I use APAP mode--I'm increasing the lower threshold from 9.5 to 10.0. Upper is constant at 13. I use a-flex set at 1, suppose I could go up to 2....

Rules of thumb for incr. pressure--how much per day/week?
Any general rules of thumb for raising pressure settings? I'm slowly going up to try to resolve some OAs. Increased from 8 to 9 w/ no problems. Left it that way for a month or so. Increased to 9.5, again no problems. Has been a week at that. Last night I went to 10 and my brain didn't like it-- was ...
