Re: Newly back to CPAP, somewhat massive leak issues - help?

Yeah, my machine was louder when the water tank wasn't in right. I wish it was that easy for you...good luck.

Re: Newly back to CPAP, somewhat massive leak issues - help?

JCraig - I have the same machine and mask you have, and just went through a similar experience. I was showing decent AHI, but had major leak issues. Tried several chinstraps, a new mask, and still couldn't solve the leak issue. In my case, it turned out to be the humidifier! It has to "click" into p...

Re: Resmed making noise with exhale

Had an issue similar to this...turns out the humidifier wasn't seated correctly. Once I discovered that is was the humidifier, it was an easy fix. Just make sure it's pushed all the way in and seated properly. Good luck!

Relieved_Rita I found the answer! It was the humidifier! Make sure you're pushing the humidifier in until it "clicks"...solved all of my problems! See the thread here:

It looks almost exactly like the standard tank, except the grip on top is a darker color.
Edit: I also wonder if you are pushing the chamber in all the way. It needs to click.
That was my problem...I wasn't "clicking"

Embarassing, but I hope it helps others with Airsense 10

Keep in mind, I've only been on CPAP for about 3 weeks, no I'm a newbie making newbie mistakes. I would have 2-3 nights of a quiet machine, working properly, sounding good, low leakage, great AHI. Then I would have 2-3 nights of noise, too much air pressure, things just not feeling right. Went back ...

Re: Even my CPAP "professionals" don't know how to help me.

I think this whole issue was a matter of simply getting used to the mask. As I'm sure all you CPAP vets with nasal pillows already know, there's a learning curve in trying to figure out what a good seal feels like and how everything is supposed to work. I'm happy to report that for the last 4 or 5 n...

you are 100% sure you're putting it on right way round each time at night? the smooth part with the L nearest your lip... Yes sir, 100% well, then, back to the 'hold it under water and look for bubble leaking besides on the vent mesh" idea... sorry, it's the best I can come up with. it usually take...

Re: Even my CPAP "professionals" don't know how to help me.

I have inspected the mask and tubing VERY thoroughly for issues...not seeing anything. The last 3 times I have worn the mask, it has worked very well...making me think it's just leakage, but good gracious I have worked on fixing leakage extensively for 2 weeks with no success at all and now the last...

Re: Even my CPAP "professionals" don't know how to help me.

When you fitted the mask in the presence of the DME tech did you hook it up to a machine (or preferably your machine) to see if it was silent? > It was not silent with the tech, but was showing a "smiley face" indicator while it was on. We tried to do a mask fitting test and couldn't get it to work...

Re: Even my CPAP "professionals" don't know how to help me.

Sounds to me like the pillows aren't seated (stuck) in the cradle (yes, that's a better word I couldn't think of earlier) properly and/or completely. Did you change cradles when you got the new mask? Or are you still using same cradle but with new pillow? Wonder if maybe there is a crack in the cra...

Re: Even my CPAP "professionals" don't know how to help me.

The clips make it so it's virtually impossible to put on wrong...big tab goes in big slot, small tab goes in small slot. It's definitely not the clips being wrong or the pillows being snapped on incorrectly. I actually did all of this while the tech was watching. I know I sound crazy, but the proble...

Re: Even my CPAP "professionals" don't know how to help me.

Hi Pugsy - my vents work the same when everything is "right". On the nights when it is not working right, the air flow seems stronger and it is escaping from where the pillows clip on to the mask. I have reseated them, changed them, tried new ones (even the mask), and it doesn't help at all. I can't...
