Re: Flow Limitation and UARS?
I know about amitryptiline 10 mg. I take it myself but for nighttime pain control. In low doses it seems to help with pain and without it my sleep is fractured really bad due to pain. Earlier this summer I experimented with not taking it for 3 or 4 months. Bad idea on my part. My sleep quality real...

Re: Flow Limitation and UARS?
Looking at your picture, your machine is set at 6.5-20, but your actual max pressure is 8.0 -- so the machine thinks that there is no reason you need any of those higher pressures. (As opposed to me, where my machine has an upper pressure set to 20 and I spend time in the teens every single night a...

Re: Flow Limitation and UARS?
I used to take benadryl or melatonin from time to time to help me sleep.
But now I'm taking amitriptyline (10mg) to help anxiety since I have irritable bowel syndrome. One of the side effects of it is drowsiness.

Re: Flow Limitation and UARS?
Ok, I added it to my signature too.
Yeah, it's been happening the past couple of weeks and I think that's when I started therapy again. No nasal problems but a little bit on the neck. I'm going to go to my primary today and check it out. Yesterday was really bad.

Re: Flow Limitation and UARS?
So I've raised my pressure to 6-6.5. Not much is showing up on Sleepyhead but I'm still waking up about 5 times a night! I have no idea what to do... I got the humidifier now so if I need to raise my pressure, I could give it a shot. http://imgur.com/GLd8AUz BTW, does anyone get constant headaches? ...

Re: Flow Limitation and UARS?
Ruthsmith, you're running on a pressure from 9-12? Do you have a humidifier? I don't have a humidifier yet so when I was trying 6-7 I was getting bloody noses.
Has it helped you going that high?

Re: Flow Limitation and UARS?
Here's last nights data. I feel a little data. I "only" woke up 4 times which has been good for me lately. I put a glass of water next to my CPAP and I think it helped a little. I'll try raising the pressure tonight.

Re: Flow Limitation and UARS?
Thanks, I think we discussed this before. I don't want to go too high because my machine doesn't have a humidifier but I was starting to get bloody noses because I was drying up. I don't think my insurance would cover a humidifier... Any cheap alternatives?

You total leak number (while it is stable) is still a bit higher than we would normally expect from a nasal pillow mask at your low pressures.
What does Flow Limitation mean anyways?

Re: Flow Limitation and UARS?
I'm not sure how to control my leaks. I taped my mouth last night and I don't hear any air coming out other than the pillows. I was having large leak events before taping my mouth and that doesn't seem to show up on the report now that I've started taping my mouth.

Re: Flow Limitation and UARS?
I really need more information here...I don't know what mask is being used. Is it a full face or nasal? Would the FLs be better addressed with simply a little more minimum to prevent them in the first place? There's obviously plenty of room to do either...open up the max or just simply add more min...

Flow Limitation and UARS?
Hi guys, I was diagnosed with UARS a couple years ago and did a study recently with a different doctor and was determined no apnea (hooray!). But I'm still waking up anywhere from 6-9 times a night. I've used Sleepyhead and I've got quite a bit of events of Flow Limitation. Is this a sign something'...
