I feel great :)
2 months so far on a CPAP and I feel great! I am sleeping almost 7-8 hours every night and it is the best sleep I have ever gotten. So glad I stuck with after the horrible first week.

Re: Deductible
Yes, I did use a credit card so I will keep the reversal thing in mind. They also told me that I could only replace my hoses and masks once a year. My doctor told me last week that I needed to get a new supplies every 3 months for the hose, I believe. I can't quite remember the months for replacemen...

Deductible
I got my CPAP on October 2nd, 2014. The lady at the DME shop said that I had to pay my $250 deductible. I paid it that day and today I received a statement from my insurance stating that they had paid for it all and that I shouldn't have had to pay the deductible. I called my insurance and verified ...

1 month today!
As of this morning, I have been on CPAP for 1 month. I have decided that it is the best thing EVER! For the first time today, I didn't have to take a nap and I cleaned my entire house. This is the best I have felt in a long time. So glad I decided to suffer through the first week

Re: New CPAP user
Currently doing very well on the CPAP. I usually manage to get 7 or 8 hours of sleep a night on it. I no longer have to get up to go to the bathroom several times a night. Apparently, the changes in how you feel are going to be gradual. I really thought that I would get up and feel "Oh, this is awes...

Re: New CPAP user
Thanks to everyone for their help. I lowered the humidity level after I cleaned my machine and I didn't preheat the humidifier. I slept for almost 7 hours, which is the longest I have slept on it in the almost 2 weeks since I started CPAP. I'm so excited that I think I finally have it figured out.

Re: New CPAP user
At a setting off 8 for humidity with your machine...that's the maximum (may vary depending on the ambient humidity where you live) it can go to and while I don't know how that relates to automatic at 85% ....it's going to be cranking out the moisture and while some folks do well with it maxed out ....

Re: New CPAP user
I don't know anything about that new Resmed machine, which you have, but I have been on cpap for 12+ years. I get very congested with much humidity. I use passive humidity (water in the chamber but no heat) most of the year. On colder winter nights (I live in Southwestern Ontario in Canada) I usual...

Re: New CPAP user
I had a full face mask to start with, but I was very claustrophobic with it. I couldn't sleep at all with the mask on.

Re: New CPAP user
Ok, it's been a week of using the nasal pillows. I was sleeping with them fine for the first couple of days, but now I have a horrible sinus infection. I am staying congested in my nose, even after using a nasal spray at night and taking sinus medicine. I have the humidifier turned up to 8. I go to ...

Re: New CPAP user
I ended up swapping out the full face mask for the nasal pillows. I am doing a lot better on those so far because I don't feel as claustrophobic with just the nasal pillows in. My only problem is that last night, I noticed the sound of bubbles around the pillows. Has anyone on here ever used the cov...

Re: New CPAP user
I think the main problem I'm having is just getting used to wearing it. I only wore it for 4 hours the first night and 3 the second night. I adjusted the humidifier to a different level and that has seemed to help with the dry mouth. I guess it's just something to get used to.

New CPAP user
I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea, with an AHI of 13.4, I believe. So it's not really horrible. I have only tried sleeping with the mask for 2 nights, but it is extremely hard to get used to. I have a full face mask because I sleep with my mouth open. So if anyone has any suggestions as to how to...

Re: Sleep study questions
Yeah, the tech really didn't explain anything. The only thing she explained was that if I stopped breathing 40 times in 2 hours, that they would have to come in and put me on a cpap. So, I just assumed that everything turned out fine. My doctor didn't mention anything about a split study, but maybe ...
