Re: Halfway through the night, the large leaks start.
Well, I bought a cheapish infrared camera and filmed myself last night to figure out what was happening. Right before the "event"--that is, the point where my well-behaved SleepyHead AHI graph changes into 2.5 hours of large leak territory--I pick my head up and slam it back into the pillow. Curious...

Re: Halfway through the night, the large leaks start.
Why would posting the graphs help? I think I'm probably knocking the mask with my hand or having my head roll to the side. The graphs aren't going to give you information on either one. Are you suggesting I increase the pressure? What do you mean by "highest" pressure? The highest pressure the machi...

Re: Halfway through the night, the large leaks start.
Hi, Dave.
That's what I think, too. I bought a buckwheat pillow. It's kind of small (which was difficult to tell initially, since I purchased it through Amazon). What do you suggest?
Josh

Halfway through the night, the large leaks start.
Hi, everyone. I've been looking at my data on SleepyHead, and something is happening consistently: halfway through the night, I start having a prolonged--that is, for 1 or 2 hours--large leak, and I finally wake up. The weird thing is that I don't get the large leak until an hour or two after I fall...

Re: How to keep one's mouth shut (literally)
Thanks, guys. I like the Polident idea, but I wake at least two times during the night to drink some water, because my mouth is all pasty, even though I have the humidifier cranked up. The cervical collar is an intriguing idea, though; I never thought to use that for anything other than if I got int...

AHIs Down; Vibratory Snore Index Up
I adjusted the pressure of my machine last night down from 22/18 to 20/16 because I was sick of feeling like a space shuttle astronaut feeling my face blown away. (I need to update my signature to reflect that I now use a full-face mask, as well as the new pressures.) Anyway, my AHI is awesome: .33,...

How to keep one's mouth shut (literally)
Well, I just got my 4th mask, and this one is of the full facial variety. Today I tried taking a nap, and my jaw gaped open so wide that the mask seal was broken. I've tried chin straps before, but they're horribly uncomfortable, and taping one's mouth is even worse. (I tried it.) Anyone have a comf...

Cleaning the Humidifier Reservoir
I just figured out a really easy way to clean the deposits off of the humidifier tray that holds the water. Use CLR! You can get it in Home Depot and possibly in your pharmacy. No scrubbing. Just pour some in, wait about 3 minutes, and wash out. Easy peasey.

Re: Large leak reported even though leak rate is small. (Huh??)
Sigh. Thanks for your help. I've got a fourth mask fitting on Thursday, so hopefully I'll find a mask that works, at that point. Sleep apnea, !@#$ you!

Re: Large leak reported even though leak rate is small. (Huh??)
Thanks, Krelvin and Palerider. I'm still hoping someone will eventually have an answer to my question. Any ideas?

I wasn't able to figure out how to insert the image inline in my previous post, but I was able to post it as a URL. Hope you guys are able to see it. Thanks in advance.

Re: Large leak reported even though leak rate is small. (Huh??)
OK, guys. I've posted my machine information in the signature. Here is a screenshot from SleepyHead of what I'm talking about. Notice how I have very large duration large leaks, and yet the leak rate shown is non-zero but minimal, which seems to be contradictory: http://joshgoldstein.org/cpap_pictur...

Re: Large leak reported even though leak rate is small. (Huh??)
Thanks, guys. Being a technical writer, I definitely know how to take a screen shot. Now, if I only knew why they include that cup holder that mysteriously slides in and out of the computer... I'll take the screenshot and post it when I get home. Thanks again!

Large leak reported even though leak rate is small. (Huh??)
Hi there. I'm a new BiPAP user and have been scouring the internet to find an answer to this, but to no avail. I'm using SleepyHead software to look at my data each night. It turns out that I am having large leaks for about 2 hours at a time, yet, for that same time period the leak rate shown (on th...
