Re: Latest test didn't show apnea? But I know I need cpap.

Hi Hannah, I had a similar situation. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea in Jan. 2010 and put on Bipap (Airsense 10). I did well with it and then I went on Medicare, and suddenly they stopped paying for it. It wasn't clear to me, or the doctors, why they stopped. But after several months, my pulmonary...

Re: Newbie mild sleep apnea. Questions

I was on BiPap for 8 1/2 years. Then was told I had 'mild sleep apnea' after a poorly conducted repeat sleep study, and was taken off treatment. That was over 4 years ago. I knew I was having some issues still, like waking frequently, snoring, etc. Husband would push me over onto my side when snorin...

Re: Question for the ladies here

Hi Kalbyrd, I couldn't tolerate CPAP or a full face mask on my first sleep study. So the tech immediately put me on Bipap, and gave me a 'hybrid' mask....and I slept the whole night for my study. I too get claustrophobic. At home, I first started with just nasal pillows but didn't tolerate them as I...

Re: Extreme dry mouth and really tired

Hi, I've been on Bipap for over 5 years, and recently started having issues with the dry mouth. I've always been a mouth breather, but for some reason now, I wake up several times per night with very dry mouth. I've started using Biotene mouth rinse at night and it helps sometimes. I've also turned ...

Re: Anyone get off of CPAP by losing weight?

I've been on my Bipap for 5.5 years. Still have problems with my weight. I found out about 1.5 years ago I have pulmonary fibrosis. It's been stable, still have about 70% lung function. My doc wants me to lose weight, but it's been difficult. He told me he wanted me to lose weight to lessen problems...

Re: The Undiagnosed Millions

I wish I had been diagnosed sooner than I was. I was getting treated for reflux for quite a while before a doc said I needed a sleep study. I've been on bipap about 4.5 years and doing well. I do have fibromyalgia, which causes some of my sleep cycles to be reversed time wise, but otherwise sleep we...

Re: Poll: GERD and Sleep Apnea

^tmjTerri....keep an check on your issues with still having reflux with the cpap. See my post above. Being on my bipap has not prevented me from further reflux problems. Sounds like some people on here are very lucky. Mine is still silent, no pain, no heartburn...but still have days where I wake up ...

Re: Poll: GERD and Sleep Apnea

Hi All! Just joined and glad to see this post is still going. I was diagnosed with GERD first. I had no heartburn, no upper abdominal pain, no burping...at anytime. All I had was waking up in the middle of the night coughing and finding saliva in my mouth that I wasn't swallowing while asleep. I was...
