Re: Need help, suspect UARS. Want to try APAP - need advice and guidance.
] I already wrote on the previous page that you must address your sleep disruptors, leaks. They may seem within the norm to some, but for UARS, they are a factor. After trying to make p10 work (leaks, not comfortable), I had to switch masks and that several times I wish I could use P10, because it ...

damn, I thought UK has a free healthcare... going to ENT route may be even more expensive. I have been to mine twice (2008 and 2015) was recommended surgeries (rhinoplasty) both the times. Except that in 2015, I was NOT recommended to have UPPP by the same doctor, like it was in 2008 :D go figure. I...

The for Her mode blows air while awake exactly like the regular mode. If you had difficulty while awake with air movement and comfort....it was the congestion not the mode. Ah, okay that's good to know - thanks pugs! Current battle is fine tuning my diet to alleviate it enough to use it. So far tod...

Re: Need help, suspect UARS. Want to try APAP - need advice and guidance.
Your leaks are quite horrible for a UARSer. You must address them first. Run them into the ground (mouth taping, using a different mask), and if you don't feel better, you will have to keep searching, but you first must not have leaks. Once things are fixed, you should feel an immediate relief. Who...

Re: Six months in: Still feel awful
I am sorry to read that you are having such a difficult time of it. I am no expert in this area unfortunately. I too tried the P10 mask and could not use it. It caused sores inside my nose and gave me sinus headaches. I am a mouth breather and therefore had to use a chin strap with it. I hated the ...

Re: Six months in: Still feel awful
Yes, getting you as comfortable as possible will substantially reduce your wakings. Maybe someone else knows the name of the mask, but I've seen one that is a cushion below the nose rather than pillows in the nose. For inside the nose irritation, sometimes going to a smaller size pillows helps if t...

Re: Three months in and I still feel like absolute crap
This past week I've actually had some good days, but they were gotten "the wrong way". I had my normal 8 hours in bed with CPAP (for which I was "asleep" pretty much the entire time). But when my alarm went off, I took off my mask meaning to get up but immediately fell back asleep and slept 4 more ...

Re: Three months in and I still feel like absolute crap
The sleep doctor only cares about the AHI. He says I'm doing great and should ignore all of the sleepiness, You have a clueless doctor. Find yourself another one who knows about UARS, because it's what you have and that's why you still feel absolute crap One problem -- I live in a small town. It to...

Try the partial taping as suggested above.NadiaK wrote:I have a really bad time with dry mouth. But I think I would be petrified to tape my mouth closed. I am already claustrophobic to begin with.

Re: Dry mouth problems
If you are not mouth breathing, or if the mouth breathing is very minimal, adding a neck brace, cervical collar, or chin strap is not likely to fix the problem. If you are doing enough mouth breathing for it to be a problem, then one of those ideas might help a great deal. Or switching to a full fa...
