Re: Camping

I'm rafting and kayaking off the grid a lot every summer. On my raft I can carry the extra weight of the 12V deep cycle batteries, but when I started kayak touring I needed a smaller and lighter option. I have switched to Li Ion batteries now and I use a folding solar panel for recharging. I have a ...

Re: Lightweight Battery Options for Respironics BiPAP autoSV Adv

I still use a 12V 20ah deep cycle battery for longer rafting trips, but I mainly use my Qi-Infinity battery for off the grid activity. Works fantastic. Two nights out of each 3lb. compact sized battery. Using a 20 watt solar panel charger to recharge on longer trips. My rafting buddy also uses the Q...

Re: Backpacking, Hiking and Camping - the PowerAdd Pilot Pro

Reporting back on my 7 night river rafting trip. I brought two of my 12V batteries, my Qi-Infinity Li Ion battery, and my All Powers 28 W folding solar charger. First off, the trip was great, but very hot. Like triple digits the whole time. Luckily we could spend a lot of time in the water to cool o...

Re: Backpacking, Hiking and Camping - the PowerAdd Pilot Pro

I'm heading out for long river trip next week. 2 nights in a campground, 7 nights on the river. My plan is to bring one of my 12 V batteries for the campground, two 12V + my Li Ion battery for the river. I know I can get at least two nights, maybe three off each of those batteries. My hope (and the ...

Re: Backpacking, Hiking and Camping - the PowerAdd Pilot Pro

Update - I've done 3 weekend camping trips with the Qi-Infinity battery, and it has worked like a champ. I found a padded water bottle holder that fits the battery perfectly for protection in my gear bag. I have also used the All Power 28W solar panel a little bit, and it seems to recharge at about ...

Re: camping and resmed9

There are several active threads that will address your questions, but here are some simple instructions. 1. Get this https://www.cpap.com/productpage/DC-Converter-For-S9-Machines.html 2. Buy a 12V battery. Whatever size you fell will work for your needs. An AGM deep cycle marine battery is the best...

Re: Doctor says sleep pill will mess up the test

I'm confused.....why won't the sleep center doctor order the Ambien for him? Why does he have to rely on his PCP to order it? My PCP had nothing to do with my sleep study. I went to her with symptoms. She ordered lab tests to rule out other medical issues that could cause my symptoms. She also order...

Re: Backpacking, Hiking and Camping - the PowerAdd Pilot Pro

Hey flyswatta, I have a few dumb questions. The charger came yesterday & the instructions that came with it are ridiculous. Clearly written by someone for whom english is a second (or third) language. When I want to charge, I just lay the solar panel in the sun and hook it up to my battery? Anything...

Re: Longer lasting power for tent camping

I found the Qi-Infinity because a person on a backpacking forum posted about it. He has the Transcend EZEX travel cpap and was using the Trancend Multi-night battery pack. He was only able to get 10 hours out of it, and went searching for an alternative. If you order the PowerAdd Pilot and it works,...

Re: Longer lasting power for tent camping

I was looking at a very small battery powered travel cpap at Secondwind for ~359. Would something like that be a decent option? For a similar price of a larger li-on battery it might draw less power and enable using a smaller battery, and would be less trouble to lug when you have to be away from t...

Re: Longer lasting power for tent camping

I am very happy with my Qi-Infinity. I tried the PowerAdd Pilot and it didn't work. Probably a dud? I sent it back for a refund. Several folks have had good luck with it, but I wasn't sure, so I decided to try the Qi-Infinity instead of taking another chance on the PowerAdd Pilot. I initially checke...

Re: Backpacking, Hiking and Camping - the PowerAdd Pilot Pro

Hey flyswatta, I ordered that solar charger panel today. Going kayaking over Mother's Day weekend, but it probably won't get to me in time for the trip. Not a problem for that trip, as it will be a 2 nighter, so plenty of power from the battery. Over Memorial Day weekend I'll be doing a 3 night raft...

Re: Backpacking, Hiking and Camping - the PowerAdd Pilot Pro

if it means a good night's sleep, I'll lug while backpacking. It might mean avoiding a stroke or heart attack. Good to see you take CPAP seriously! I recently asked my sleep doc about going without cpap for 2 night kayak trips. She said that going without was ok, but ultimately depended on how I fe...

Re: Backpacking, Hiking and Camping - the PowerAdd Pilot Pro

I use both systems depending on what I'm doing. Rafting & car camping for more than 2 nights - 12V20A AGM Deep Cycle batteries. I have a total of 4 batteries. Medium/compact size and weigh 13 lb. each. Easy to carry & manage in my raft dry box or in the car. I can get 2 nights (sometimes 3) out of e...

Re: Backpacking, Hiking and Camping - the PowerAdd Pilot Pro

Most of the time I'll just be out for two nights, and the battery can handle that without a problem. But if the solar panel could charge the battery back up on longer trips that would be a bonus. The real catch to all of this is weather and direct sunlight. The solar panel you have is much more cost...
