Do you have a wireless modem attached? My PRS1 will light up to let me know the modem successfully connected in the middle of the night.

I'll add my suggestion to the list - it is a free app called Twilight, available on Android for sure. Very user-friendly, allows you to configure the intensity of the "orange" effect.

I'd like to see a genuine study done on the accuracy of machine event detection..
