Re: Another Resistance Control question
I think I did see a DeVry diploma on his wall, but one would think any amount of filtration would decrease air flow, right? But are our CPAP machines so brilliantly engineered to take that into account when providing optimum air flow? Once again, I am a Underwater Basket weaving type of guy, but his...

Another Resistance Control question
Hi everyone. Writing this question (too quickly) as I have to go out the door shortly. That and the fact that I have little technical expertise means I am hoping for an easy answer to a complicated (?) question. Has anyone determined what Respironics System One resistance control setting is appropri...

Hurricane Dryer question
Hi everyone! Happy holiday season and all that humbug I have a question about the hurricane dryer for those who have one. All other considerations aside (e.g., cost, need, etc. etc.), I was wondering how *noisy* it is. I would have to use it in my kitchen in the morning with my wife sleeping about t...

F&P Simplus Full Face question
Hi everyone. I think I posted about this before but maybe not. I am having a problem with my Simplus in that water vapor from the humidifier seems to build up and partially clog my mask's exhaust holes, which is causing an occasional high-pitched squealing sound. It's definitely not a mask leak. Com...

Odd Simplus FF mask problem
Hi again everyone, here's an odd one for you. I like the Simplus FF mask (especially with the Padacheek mask liner, which stops leaks in their tracks). But even with relatively low humidity settings, occasionally I get enough condensation within my mask such that water vapor starts clogging up the e...

Re: So, should I try the Auto setting?
Thanks to everyone who posted back. A few notes: 1) As to the low-end pressure of 4.0, that's what my machine defaulted to when I switched to Auto mode, and I implicitly trusted that my machine knows best. Silly rabbit. 2) I downloaded Sleepyhead and imported my SD card data. Still need to learn how...

So, should I try the Auto setting?
I have this wonderful new Phillips Auto machine, but using it at my traditional fixed setting (8.0). I have gone into the clinician's menu and tried the auto setting (4-12) for a couple of nights. AHI was a bit higher (in the 5's), but I did not notice anything and I am still alive. Do you folks thi...

Re: Airfit F10 question
Hi Library Lady, I should have been clearer in that I wasn't trying to induce leaks, they just happened when I moved around in bed and my hose went this way and that. And after three years my wife has well learned the sound of normal mask exhaust versus mask leakage, the latter of which earns me a n...

Re: Phillips part numbers, ack!
Thanks everyone! I get to drive my DME nuts every three years with all my kooky nattering about this machine and that machine and does this mask me look fat, etc. etc. Then they get me what I want just to get me to go away... But my contact Mansoor is awesome, just in case he is reading this. You ro...

Airfit F10 question
Hi folks, one more Newbie (uhh, 3 years now) question: when I tried the Airfit F10 about a year ago, I was surprised by how loose the mask elbow connected into the mask frame (is that the right verbiage?). And when I torqued the elbow up or down or right or left I was able to induce leakage. And I w...

Phillips part numbers, ack!
Hi everyone: working with my DME to get me a new Phillips machine, and have noticed that their (Phillips) part number scheming is very confusing, at least to me. Can anyone review this and let me know if I have the right numbers for current products? Here we go: Auto: The latest and greatest (I thin...

Re: ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset
P.S. If it matters, I am using the Climate Air heated tubing, which is very nice. Unless the mask is providing some sort of weird feedback due to its design, it's the machine. And the wifey noticed it too, not happy

Re: ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset
Hi folks. I was just wondering if this issue was ever "resolved". I got my new Airsense 10 auto on Friday, it's set on CPAP mode (8.0), and it sounds like a freight train compared to my 3 year old Phillips System One machine. And yes, the noise is coming from the air intake when I inhale. It is cert...

Still need a snugglehose?
Hi folks! Quick question de jour: when I get my new machine in June, whatever it is, I am probably going to get whatever heated hose comes with it. Does a heated hose eliminate the need for a cover like the Snugglehose? I am wondering if it will interfere somehow with the hose's function and set the...
