I never experienced that before thus the reasoning for blaming the machine. My sleep Dr told me the same thing that my lungs was 'looking for the pressure'upon exertion. Went to the Dr my shortness of breath is due to an adjustment needed in my machine. While there is possibly an underlying cause. The main concern at this point is that the machine may be the cause. I an a mouth breather but my chin is small therefore not allowing a good seal. So I use a chin strap to keep my mouth closed at nite or you will get the ear popping. I was told weekly for the tank with a water/vinegar solution but not to use anything but distilled water. I do dump it daily. The non replace filter with baby shampoos but was also worrying if weekly was too much
