Re: Pulse Oximeter report vs home sleep study
Jds74, I agree. I barely spoke with the doctors in the practice after the diagnosis, it was like pulling teeth getting more than the actual report. Just met the technician twice when I complained that I wanted the S9 autoset instead of escape. Speaking to a doctor more than once at this practice is ...

Re: Pulse Oximeter report vs home sleep study
Ricalynn, no. I haven't been using cpap for last week. Had a glidewell silent night made at dentist to see if it will work for me instead. Jds7r, that is exactly what I wanted to understand. I was initially more concerned about the ramifications of low O2 than just being really exhausted when I wake...

Pulse Oximeter report vs home sleep study
After doing the home sleep test and getting my results mild to Moderate Sleep apnea (AHI of 6) i noticed my lowest blood oxygen was 80% for 1 minute with about 5 apneas an hour but an avg O2 level of 95%. I purchased a contec cms50d+ and I 3 days of overnight reports did not have lower than 88% o2 a...

Re: Understanding my Home Sleep Study Results
Understood. Although I'm unsure of the quality and reliability, I am ordering the contec cms50d+ so I can do some of my own experimenting. Would have preferred a nonin but too expensive for model with Bluetooth. I also don't want to overthink this and lab rat myself and just feel better

Re: Understanding my Home Sleep Study Results
Quest to gain back my energy. That is only going to happen if: The benefits gained from xPAP therapy; Exceed the sum total of the problems it creates. This is very very true. I seem to wake up incessantly while I have to mask on because (although not leaking) through swift fx, I feel constant urge ...

Understanding my Home Sleep Study Results
So I finally got the results of my home sleep study and would love to see what some with more experience think, I never had much more of a conversation with the doctor other than you have sleep apnea and these are your options. After a bit of wrangling and at the suggestion of you all, I now have th...

Re: Cpap 24 hour newbie
Having spent years scuba diving in some really technical and crazy places, I didn't think the mask would be that big an issue. I'm keeping at it. I'm ordering a contec cms50d+ tonight as well to help figure things out.

Re: Cpap 24 hour newbie
Pugsy, I'm using the resmed swift fx nasal pillow. I don't seem to have any leak issue aside from occasional mouth opening, not much discomfort really, it's because it's there and tossing around with tube attached to my face. I know it's only been 4 days, but I'm waking up because it's there.

Re: Cpap 24 hour newbie
Thank you everyone who pushed me to get rid of the S9 escape. They called me back and said that they would swap my escape auto for the S9 autoset tomorrow. Would have never know any different if not for your advice. Now if I could only stop tossing and turning all night because of the mask. I think ...

Re: Cpap 24 hour newbie
4 days in and mild laryngitis, ughh! Not loving this. I have started trying to return the escape for the Autoset, will see what happens this week. I'm also ordering the cms50d+ pulse oximeter to try to see if I have any noticeable drops. My daytime normal O2 at 90%
