Re: Resmed Autoset 10 turned itself off and on
I think you guys are correct. I did a couple tests. A very short power interrupt, pull power plug and plug right back in, results in the machine resetting and coming back on. It takes right around 15 seconds to start blowing air. I suspect a momentary power interrupt. It was a rather rude awakening,...

Resmed Autoset 10 turned itself off and on
My Autoset 10 apparently turned off for 15 seconds and then turned back on by itself early this morning. I woke up out of a dream feeling like I was being suffocated right about at the time it turned back on. I looked at the data in Oscar, and it clearly shows a 15 second dropout in the data, simila...

Agreed, I find the ads fairly offensive.

Re: diagnosed with sleep apnea, need some advice
Being on CPAP is not as bad as it seems up front. Getting through the tests and first getting fitted for a mask are the worst part, that's over soon. Settling on a mask can be challenging. After that, it's something you only use while sleeping and doesn't negatively impact any other day to day activ...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
Just received a DreamStation Auto CPAP per the recall. It shipped in auto mode, wide open pressure limits, and I did not have to send a prescription. I set it up this evening and put an SD card in it. I'll use it tonight and see how it does, then I'll probably shelve it until my Autoset conks out do...

Jeepers, we really are getting ripped off on electric rates. Thanks for confirming my numbers. -- Jim

Re: How can I make use of the empty 1-gallon distilled water jugs?
Ok, I checked with my friend who actually measured the water distiller electricity usage. He reported that 4 Hrs. of distiller use used 3.1 KW. His rate for Electricity + delivery is $.242/KW, so that works out to about $ .73/Gallon. Our rates are actually about to go significantly higher in January...

Re: Resmed Power Supply
Check the wattage, especially if you use a heated hose, and make sure the older supplies can provide the same power. A higher wattage is fine, but you may overload one with less wattage.

Re: How can I make use of the empty 1-gallon distilled water jugs?
I agree, the distiller wont run at full power the whole time. I didnt measure it myself, i'll double check with my source. It would be nice if its way cheaper, otherwise the payback on the distiller will be years out. I probably use about 15 gallons a year, maybe less.

Re: How can I make use of the empty 1-gallon distilled water jugs?
I think the cost is arround 80 cents per gallon, but it depends on the electricity rates. I start with hot tap water and it takes about 4 hours to distill a gallon. Just fill the distiller and start it, no ice required. I think it usesabout 1500 watts or a little less.

Buy a water distiller and stop buying water in disposable containers. They work really well and you can make your own distilled water as often as you need to.

Re: Airsense 10 Humidifier Tank Running Dry
Presuming that a lower constant humidity would be more comfortable than having the tank run dry and getting no humidification once that happens, i would suggest turning the humidity setting down until you reach the point that it never runs completely dry. Leaks use more air and therefore more water,...

Re: Swift FX vent hurricane solution
I know you started off saying you can only get a swift FX mask. That's what i used for years, but then i tried an Airfit P30i. It has a diffuser at the nose, but the majority of the venting seems to be at the connection on top of your head. I find it much easier to deal with the hose connecting at t...

Re: Resmed Airsense 11 - AC/DC adapter?
I know this isn't the answer to the question you asked, but for the Airsense 10 I just bought, the AC adapter produces 24V, but also there is a center pin with about 3.3 volts. I bought an aftermarket DC/DC adapter specifically advertised for the Airsense 10, and it also has the 3.3 volt center pin....

Re: What SD card should I get?
Many of the microsd cards come with an SDcard sized adapter. You can insert the microsd card in the adapter and the adapter in the CPAP, it will work fine.
