Re: Will this ruin my precious CPAP?
At least if any damage is done it would only be from the huidifier tank downstream, and those parts are replaceable. I would be very careful to use the absolute minimum so as not to get poisoned hy the fumes.

Re: Recall with sevear apena. Fear of sleeping
Is the machine in the video similar to the model you have? I have an older machine that i did take the foam out of. It is a little tricky getting it apart and back together, but doable. It was a spare machine for me, so not a disaster if i broke anything. It does leave the machine unsealed and some ...

Re: Vehicle car battery as a CPAP power source?
the marine deep cycle battery I bought today was easy to get and cost me $120. A true deep cycle battery What size AH is it? The center pin has about 3.3 volts on it, not sure why, but its the same as the resmed ac adapter. Has to be the same as the AC adapter or it won't work. the 3.3V is so you d...

Re: Vehicle car battery as a CPAP power source?
Although not as good as a true deep cycle battery, the marine deep cycle battery I bought today was easy to get and cost me $120. A true deep cycle battery would probably have cost 2 to 3 times that much. It should get me through the storm thats hitting tomorrow. The pinout on the resmed 24 volt ada...

Re: Vehicle car battery as a CPAP power source?
There's a planned power outage in my apartment in the near future. I was wondering if using a regular vehicle battery like you buy at Costco and attaching a DC adapter for several hours of use would work or would the power requirements of the CPAP be too much and drain the battery? We do need to kn...

Re: Switched to ResMed; loving it
I would agree, i just switched to an Autosense 10 and i think i'm sleeping better. I actually have two now, a "for her" model with a few thousand hours on it and a regular one that is new. The used one is extremely quiet. The new one makes some motor sounds. I actually had to return my first new one...

Re: Dream Station taking the foam out!
I have not used an ozone sanitizer on my DreamStation. I've had it for about a year and a half. Any off-gassing that is occurring is minimal to none at this point and I have not seen any evidence of black particulates. I am continuing to use the machine as I don't believe it to be as much of a risk...

Resmed Repair Wait
Does anyone here have any recent experience with Resmed waranty repair times? I bought a new Autosense 10 Autoset from The CPAP Shop and had to return it after the first night. It was perfect when I went to sleep and really noisey when i woke up. Apparently it went back to Resmed and I have no way t...

Re: Getting really frustrated by noise issues: What does your ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet Sound Like
I received a new Airsense 10 autoset a couple weeks ago. It was perfectly silent when I went to sleep the first night, and it sounded very much like #1 in the morning. The second night i could not fall asleep with the noise, switched back to my condemned PR System One, and returned it. No idea when ...

Re: will phillips battery work on resmed
I realized this was going to be the case when I bought my new Resmed. Last winter I built up a nice battery box to run my CPAP. I figured, in an emergency, I'd pull the battery out of a vehicle to run the CPAP if we had a power failure. I know that's not good for the battery, but if it failed, I wou...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
In the next few days I will take my own Phillips System One apart and take photos to examine whether or not the foam is directly involved with the air-intake. I will upload the photos. also, in reply to the last few replies to my comments: the foam does not "surround" the intake channel...it blanke...

Re: Upgrading from SleepyHead to OSCAR
That's about how I figured it was going to go. I went through the install again and bypassed the migration. I have the SD cards for two of the three machines, and the one that I don't have was only used for a few months before it was replaced under warranty. I was able to import the cards I have int...

Re: Upgrading from SleepyHead to OSCAR
My running version of SleepyHead is V0.9.5 (testing). Oscar is version v1.2.0, I downloaded the 32-bit windows version. The last 7 years of data was from 3 different Phillips Respironics Remstar Auto machines. As soon as I open it, after the release notes dialog, I get a dialog that says it "needs t...

Upgrading from SleepyHead to OSCAR
I'm switching to a new machine, I thought it might be a good time to upgrade from SleepyHead to OSCAR. I downloaded and installed, and attempted to migrate my SleepyHead data, but now it's asking to upgrade databases and says it will need to re-import data from the SD Card. I inserted the SD card fr...
