Re: prescription update issue - Just do it yourself! LOL
I had my prescription tweaked to see if I could help a mask issue. Mine was extremely high staring out at 25cm and 21cm, I'm a brand new user as well so still experimenting. However my numbers are good and well under control right off the bat. Went form a AHI of 133 during testing to 1's and 2's ri...

Re: Nasal Pillow Advice?
I progressed from FFM to pillows trying about 4 of each one. Buying through cpap was great with the return insurance when I started trying the pillows. By this time my DME said they couldn't help me with masks. My main problem was my high pressure but I've ended up loving the P10. I use a regular he...

Re: First night using Sleepyhead. Couple Questions....
I still consider myself new at this - going on my 5th month and still learning a lot. Your graphs looks a lot like mine except my pressure is lots higher. Your leaks look great too. Most of my AHI like yours is made up of hypopneas. In sleepyhead, you can click on the little triangle by the date and...

Re: Ahh.. the Insurance changed.... WAPITB!
Sorry.... I misunderstood the statement: " DME charges 1233.00 - $850 deductible = $383.00
Insurance then covers 80% of the balance so my "copay" is $76". I stand corrected.

Re: Ahh.. the Insurance changed.... WAPITB!
Your cost will actually be a little less than what you figured. You will only be responsible for the amount that is the "allowable" from your insurance, NOT the amount that the DME bills. You need to ask your insurance what the allowable is for the HCPC code for your machine. Example - the DME may b...

Re: Which is more comfortable - chin strap or full face mask?
I didn't like the chin strap the DME gave me so I went to a store and shopped around for headbands. I found one that is wide in one part and skinny on the other end. I reverse the way you are suppose to wear it putting the wide end under my chin. It works like a charm and much more comfortable than ...

Re: Chin straps for use with Nuance nasal pillows
I found that a head band I got from Winco Groceries works better as a chin strap than the chin strap I got at a DME. It is comfortable to wear and does keep my mouth closed. It has a narrow part that I put on top of my head(normally this part goes under your hair) and use the wide band part under my...

Re: thoughts on training with higher pressures
Gee... I usually get to 24.8 a lot during the night with minimal leaks. I thought I was doing good. Maybe I should be lifting my machine up and down above my head while on those pressures to pump (iron) air! LOL.

Re: CPAP and sneezing
I do a lot of sneezing throughout the day but I also started allergy shots at the same time as starting on xPap. So I thought it was due to having things I'm allergic to injected into my body twice a week. I do not have any pets in the home so that is, of course, eliminated as a cause. I wonder if i...

Most days I am around .5 so yes it should be lower. Please list what your settings are so others can help you. You can put your machine info in your profile so it shows up when you post by going to the user control panel at the left top and choose the "profile" tab. Then on the left you will see, "e...

Re: 4 Questions - mask-related problems, really need help
My question would be: Why do you think you have to wear a FFM? With my high pressure, I found that a FFM would not stay in place and had lots of the same problems you describe. I thought I had to have one because I was a mouth breather my whole life, but I was very wrong about that. The P10 has been...

Re: Mask Variety
I was given a FFM from the get go by the sleep and titration studies and by my DME. I was not given a choice of anything else. With my high pressure, the FFM's I tried all leaked like crazy, keeping me up all night so I had less sleep than before my therapy. I went to cpapdotcom and looked at all my...

Re: New CPAP user needs desperate advice!
My bedtime routine did not change. I have always read a book in bed till I fall asleep. I usually catch the book falling several times and when I realize I've read the same paragraph several times, I stop and put my mask on. I am asleep in minutes. What was your routine before cpap? If you didn't ha...
