Re: 2 Issues

I too wake up earlier than I use to in the mornings except I wake up at 7 a.m. each day. Before therapy, I could sleep lots later on some days. Now no matter what time I go to bed, I wake at 7. Last night I was reading till 1:30 a.m. and still got up at 7 almost on the dot. But I do feel that my res...

Re: New ASV User Needs Advice on Machines

I have the PR ASV but can't do a comparison for you since it's the only machine I have ever had. I never was on a cpap or apap. I went straight to the ASV. I do not know what you mean by having a sponge to decrease sound. There is no sponge as far as I've seen. My machine is noisy as I can hear each...

Re: Do Many of You Have the Ramp Feature Turned Off?

OFF - I can't quite remember but I think I only used it for 2-3 days before turning it off and my inhalation starts at 21.

Re: Hubby's 1st Night - self titration

Try increasing the minimum pressure from 5 to 8 cm if he can tolerate it. Ramp..his choice but with the 5 current minimum there really isn't much ramp because the machine is starting out at 4 cm and that might be causing suffocation issues from lack of air movement. If he can't do 8 cm without ramp...

Hubby's 1st Night - self titration

Equipment: REMstar Auto A-flex 560P Settings: 5-20 Flex: 3 Humidifier: 2 Heated Hose: 2 When I started in Sept I had the sleep study and 2 titration studies. My pressures were set and I haven't changed them as they are working for me. So for my husband - Here is his first night. He only tolerated 4 ...

Re: Tonight is 1st night for my hubby with a Pico nasal mask

I already had that in mind. The DME guy even said that he didn't need to send the doc any data. What? He got his machine and that is that. We were basically told that the doc might be retiring soon so we will be on our own - WAIT - No we won't. We have all you guys here! Thanks in advance!

Tonight is 1st night for my hubby and on to 2nd night

He finally got his machine today. It is a PR REMstar Auto A-Flex. They set it for 5-20 with flex on 3. I've got some learning to do again to be able to help him so I will probably be back with questions. They gave him a new nasal mask by PR called Pico. Has anyone else tried it yet? What did you thi...

Soon to be a 2 pap family!

My hubby saw a sleep doctor who gave him a 1% chance of NOT having sleep apnea. He had his sleep study last Wed and the sleep doc called today to say that yes he does have sleep apnea. His is moderate when on his side and severe when on his back. The doc is going to order an Auto machine wide open t...

The DME downloads it to their computer and fax it to the doctor. I'm not sure what you mean by "ids".

Re: My First Compliance Requirement

I did medical billing for a DME several years ago and most private insurances don't have as strick rules as Medicare or Medicaids. 99=Lifetime would work then. But as we all know, the insurance companies are always changing. But remember too, do NOT take the word of the DME that it won't work. Call ...

Re: RANT - DME

The reason I was upset is that when I picked it up, they said they would print a copy out for me when I returned it. Then when I actually returned it, they said they couldn't. You would think they could get their story straight. BTW, I wasn't asking them to interpret the results. I was just asking f...

RANT - DME

So my sleep doctor agreed with me last Oct that I should double check my O2 level and sent a request to the DME. A week or so passed and I didn't get word so called the DME. They said they never received it. I called the Doctor's office and they said they'd check on it. So time goes by and by.. I ta...

Re: My First Compliance Requirement

My doctor wrote me a lifetime prescription for my supplies. I only had to show compliance between 31 and 90 days. Do check with your insurance and don't take the word of the DME.

Re: Gluten-Free Nonsense

I'll go on a rant too. I can have the wheat (just can't be around the pollen in June and I live in Wheat country) but the baker's yeast is what I'm allergic to and they add yeast to more foods than you can imagine. A GF diet at restaurants is great for those who really need it. Me - I have to ask a ...
