Re: One night without CPAP and I felt better.

Wouldn't that show up in the leak report?

Re: One night without CPAP and I felt better.

The only symptoms of OSA I had was daytime sleepiness and even that wasn't that bad. I scored under 10 on the Epworth scale. I would never fall asleep sitting at my desk or in meetings or driving. I've had insomnia since my teens so not falling asleep or waking up in the middle of the night wasn't a...

Re: One night without CPAP and I felt better.

They may be good numbers but I'll take feeling good over feeling like shit any day.

Re: One night without CPAP and I felt better.

My sleep lab AHI was 20. During my titration study I slept for two hours total. The first 2. Once they made me lie on my back I was awake the rest of the night. Why would you make someone lie on their back if they don't sleep on their back anyway...to get a higher number? Seems pretty stupid. I slee...

One night without CPAP and I felt better.

I just finished my first month of CPAP. Needless to say it was the worst month of my life. I felt horrible which I'm sure was due to the fact I couldn't sleep through the night even though my AHI was in check. Last week my AHI was all over the place. Anywhere from .95 to 4.6 and I was a train wreck....

Software For RemStar Auto A-Flex

I've been using Sleepy Head to read the data from my memory card. Is there another free software out there for my PR System One machine? I've hear of Encore...looks like it's $100. Any others?

Data not uploading into Sleepy Head

Yesterday I took a 30 minute nap. I also used my CPAP for 7.5 hours. However, the only data that shows up in Sleepy Head is from the 30 minute nap. The data card was in my machine all night and the data shows up in the SleepMapper program. Any ideas?

Re: Considerable Increase in AHI

Last night's AHI numbers look a lot better! I did not take my usual Ambien to fall asleep. I usually have to with the mask but I figured I would give it a shot since it was Saturday. I remember waking up several times especially when I rolled over to my right side (my preferred side) because my mask...

Re: Considerable Increase in AHI

Hi Den, I gave straight CPAP a try for the past two nights. Thursday didn't go well at all. I just didn't sleep well. Last night wasn't too bad but my AHI went up slightly more even though my OSA is so low. I'm finding that I am pulling the mask and chinstrap off without knowing it. Sometimes just t...

Re: Considerable Increase in AHI

Day-Dreamer, I'm not in NYC anymore. I moved to Nashville. I don't drink too much coffee. Usually only one cup first thing in the morning, sometimes up to three cups but that's only if I order an Iced Coffee that is 30oz and I don't drink coffee after Noon, ever. I am at work by 9am so I'm usually d...

Re: Considerable Increase in AHI

Thanks again Den. I understand what you are saying, I do and I'm not saying you are wrong. Everything I read on here says "give it some time" so I don't want to keep making changes every night. I'll keep the range for a few days and then I can try straight pressure of 8 if I don't feel any significa...

Re: Considerable Increase in AHI

Well, like I keep reading on here...everyone is different. As far as I'm concerned the whole treatment is terrible. It's just like all other medical treatments...no one really knows for sure. I think I'll keep using the range and start at 8. I can't justify a constant pressure of 8 if I really need ...

Re: Considerable Increase in AHI

Sorry Den, but that just didn't happen. I tried setting the pressure to 10cm and watch TV before making that leap at bedtime. OMG that was awful! I felt like a German Shepard with his head out of the car window. Even with the C-Flex set at 3 I could barely exhale. My cheeks puffed up, my chest hurt,...

Re: Considerable Increase in AHI

Den, I take the Ambien/Trazadone at bedtime. My setting just decreased after Septoplasty surgery from 10cm-15cm to 7cm-15cm(the max has only gone up to 10). I'm just so puzzled that when I told my sleep doctor I felt worse even after using the machine for 6-8 hours each night that he told me he was ...
