melted my hose; replace with what kind?
Happy New Year! When I flung my mask off this morning (it was that kind of morning), the hose landed on my floor heater and I didn't notice right away. Luckily my mask missed the heater. So, the hose that came with my original set up is history. Want to order a new hose today using amazon prime. (Ca...

newbie: different mask / SH report
I tried a Nuance Pro gel pillows mask last Thu 9/25/14. My sleep was disrupted by head harness slipping and noisy air flow. I wasn't awake enough to troubleshoot. At 3 am I'd had enough, and went back to my old mask. Because I'd disassembled it to wash, it took me some time to get old mask in place....

Thank you Pugsy and palerider. Have downloaded successfully. Now need a SD card reader. I see they're inexpensive.

help w install SleepyHead
I'm moderately awake and ready to try this. I have read Pugsy's info on installation. I have windows 8.1. From http://sleepfiles.com/SH/, when I clicked on "Latest Window Version," I downloaded a folder that has "BrokenGL" in name. When I unzipped it and clicked on exec file, I got a pop up window t...

2 weeks in - salivary gland problem
Reporting in about 2 weeks after starting CPAP tx. I'm tolerating process well, and sleep doc happy with compliance. Have script to try nasal pillow mask. My sleepiness / exhaustion has increased despite 8 hours sleep a night and daily naps. Went to my PCP today for sore mouth and painful sub-manibu...

day 3 wild & crazy
Slept 3 hours last night; can't remember the last time I slept so little. Woke up 3 am calm & alert. Didn't feel sleepy until 7 am. Took 2 hour nap in middle of day. Thinking this weirdness is part of my adjustment. Spent time fussing with my masks (have two of same mask, one from sleep study, one f...

day 2 feel crappy
Day 1 (first day after using CPAP) got about 8 hours sleep. Woke up slight headache, dried out mouth and nose. Drowsy on and off daytime (same as before CPAP). No chance to nap. Fell asleep for few seconds daytime while sitting reading a book out loud to the 4 year old I babysit. Bedtime 10:30 pm ex...

mask selection / questions after first night
Thanks everyone for your encouragement. My first night went pretty well. I enjoyed breathing the pressured air. Woke up a few times, and by morning, had light headache. Sleep deprived today, but no worse than usual. Feeling hopeful. My sleep dr gave me a prescription for a specific mask (Resmed mira...

machine hours / first night
Re-posting as new topic. Update. Apria same day-shipped my AC cord. It was wrapped with a power pack. (If the power pack and AC cord sit together in the same bin in warehouse, I wonder how I got one without the other the first time. Yes, I now have 2 power packs. Even though I told Apria I only need...

my machine is here!
Hello all After 2 voice mails from Apria stating I would have to give them a credit card, I phoned my insurance company and talked to them. UCLA HealthNet HMO confirmed my insurance pays 100% of cost. My choices were to a) use Apria or b) pay out of pocket. I arrived at my Apria class ready to refus...
