High number of apnea after waking up in middle of night
I recently was talking to a family member who got a new machine and said the AHI was running 8-15 each night. I looked at his SD card and it showed very few apeans for the first 6 hours, but then he'd get up to use the bathroom, and then the next 2 hours would have tons of apneas. He said during tho...

Re: Airsense 10 Humidifier Tank Running Dry
I think the last few nights I used it I had it on manual with the humidity set at 5 (out of 8 I think) and the tube temperature around 78. If I keep the settings like this, as it gets colder outside, the tank will eventually not last more than 6 hours.

Re: Airsense 10 Humidifier Tank Running Dry
I have been using an Aircurve 10 for the past year and have the same problem in winter, but not quite as bad as some of you. I have to turn the humidifier settings somewhere near the middle and I still almost run dry after 7 hours of sleep. I run fairly high pressures which contributes to the proble...

Re: Seeking Cpap specialist north suburbs of chicago
http://i.imgur.com/aPCh4K8l.png I raised the epap minimum to 13 to see if that would help with some of the obstructive events and it did seem to help. The events marked as centrals were also fewer last night, and it very well could be swj in the morning hours. I noticed being awake a few more times...

Re: Seeking Cpap specialist north suburbs of chicago
I think your analysis is probably right. I was thinking I may need bipap both for the higher pressure plus the chance that it'll be better tolerated at those high pressures. I appreciate your time. I'm hoping one of the forum members would know a friendly sleep specialist in the area who would be wi...

Re: Seeking Cpap specialist north suburbs of chicago
I'm pretty sure I have the relief setting turned off. When I've tried various pressure relief settings, my AHI would increase slightly. I guess I could increase the max pressure and turn on pressure relief and see how I do. The example I posted was one of my worse nights. When I can keep myself on m...

Re: Seeking Cpap specialist north suburbs of chicago
Great questions. I know contributing factors are meds and some weight gain. Specifically I've had to take what are supposed to be nonsedating antihistamines and I've gained a few pounds. Sleeping on my back is much more comfortable, but I'm working on sleeping on my side. I always have to sleep on m...

Seeking Cpap specialist north suburbs of chicago
I am looking for a sleep disorder specialist near the north suburbs of Chicago. Lately my sleep apnea has been worse and I'm stuck between needing more pressure, but then I experience aerophagia. I haven't seen a sleep doc in years, but my last sleep doc suggested I keep my pressure set to 9-14. Wit...
