Using cpap while sick?
I am currently sick with some sort of cold/flu. I also have severe sleep apnia. I did some searching for previous threads and the general consensus is to use the cpap while sick anyway because it can also help clear up the airways from mucus. However I have a concern that is bothering me, whenever I...

Re: necessary to clean humidifier tank? how often?
There was another thread on this forum recently discussing this issue. The OP had some pretty bad infections from doing exactly what you are doing. I cant find the thread I am remembering through the search though... EDIT: found it: http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=99414&p=924088 Personal...

Re: New User Extreme Dry Mouth
I just got my new mask, a resmed airfit f10 along with a chin strap after complaining to my RT about the dry mouth and leaking problems I was having. I have only tried the strap 1 night, last night, but this morning I woke up with not much dry mouth, which is a huge improvement because I used to get...

Re: pulled off mask without knowing it
Interestingly my nose stays nice and open when I have the mask on with the humidifier - when I take it off only then does it start getting stuffy. I'll check into the vertigo thing some more - didn't know it could be a potentially serious indicator. The ear thing makes sense and is probably the caus...

pulled off mask without knowing it
Have any of you ever pulled off your mask without knowing it? Last night I woke up at like 3 am without my mask on to find it was on the floor - looking at sleepyhead it looks like I removed it at around 1:30 am but I have no recall of this... I woke up this morning feeling extremely tired and when ...

Re: New user woes
So I tried out the mask liners last night - they certainly made it so it wasnt so loud when it leaked but I still had pretty severe leaks. I dont want to tighten the straps anymore because when I did that before as I said it dug into the back of my head and left an indentation that hurt for the enti...

Re: New user woes
Thanks for the suggestion of the covered cup with the straw, I will try that!
I just hope I can get these leaks under control in addition to the swallowing of the air.

Re: New user woes
Breathing through my nose at night and day vary - at night especially my nose gets stuffed up and I have to breath through my mouth - though with the mask on I have not experienced that - only when I take the mask off and try to sleep without it do I start getting a stuffy nose which is fairly commo...

New user woes
Hello all I saw there is some great information on here. I just wanted to discuss my experience so far with cpap and some of the frustrations I am having. I started therapy 2.5 weeks ago on july 9th. First of all my pressures are really high - I feel like they are and my RT tells me that. I am on bi...
