Re: I just don't know if I can do this
Exactly how tired are you when you hit the bed? Our society is very sedentary. Most people i know make a half hearted attempt at getting a workout but i watch them at the gym or track. They mostly talk, lift weights for about 10 minutes in between talking, or do 4 laps around a track. You should be ...

Re: Link: Unvented Mask Improves Centrals/Periodic Breathing?
THANKS, THIS IS WHAT IM TRYING TO GET AT. IVE BEEN ON CPAP FOR 3 YEARS AND ABOUT EVERY 8 MONTHS THE IDENTICAL THERAPY TURNS NONCOMPLIANT AND ITS TIME TO FIND OUT WHY cuyahogaguy, Periodic breathing (especially if it is not cheyne-stokes, that is without central apnea) is not necessary related to any...

Re: Resmed S9 for SALE ALMOST BRAND NEW
ROFL, cpap news is fairly hot on miscellaneous urban pages, financial pages. So they think that an 8 year old brick WITH an old FPK flexifit 432 thats 7 years old really is a "complete system" and they are really sacrificing it to give it away for 450. Denial. I am forever amazed at the prices peopl...

An ideal weight is a good goal anway. Wouldnt count on it solving everything.

Re: Link: Unvented Mask Improves Centrals/Periodic Breathing?
True story. When i first got sick my doc thought maybe i had MS. Prescribed an 02 concentrator for home use. I wore that thing out, sucking 02 constantly. Came to find out you can kill yourself pretty easy overdosing on 02. Surprised I didnt off myself, because i was sleeping with the thing turned o...

Re: Link: Unvented Mask Improves Centrals/Periodic Breathing?
Yeah, i certainly wouldnt use any mask that wasnt completely safe. What they mean by unvented is what im trying to discover. If a centrals/PB issue can be corrected by mask configuration rather than more lengthy solution then all the better. Im just in the explore phase of correcting this problem. W...

you might try getting a sleeptest yourself to cut down on your snoring, as not to disturb your husbands recovery on xpap

Bitterness at sleepdocs is a sign of a pre-approved anti-authoritarian righteous anger.

Re: Adjusting pressures min epap
IMHO, two cents, "major" tinkerings can blow your numbers out of the water first night, but potentially adjust down next two nights and be proven right. Hard to say, do another night at the level to confirm or try another number. They usually do small increment adjusts.

Re: how long does it take for symptoms to go away with cpap
It would seem that we have damaged our sympathetic nervous systems to varying degrees. That does not heal overnight. For me, i had severe neurological fallout for desaturation. That is to be expected, your brain runs on oxygen. Dont forget youre not only destressing your brain and heart, youre suppo...

Re: Link: Unvented Mask Improves Centrals/Periodic Breathing?
Yes Pugsy, thats exactly what i will attempt to do. I am not a strong technical person but i'll try to get the information you need up there. I dont want to screw around with this, we all know going into air-hunger mode and twitchy fingers and headache that we basically disabled until problem correc...

Take it back immediately. You dont want to be stuck with that piece of junk. The DME really tried to pull one on you. After you get the proper machine try to get them in trouble if it wasnt "just an honest mistake".

Re: Sleep Doctors. Any Success Stories?
I've never had a sleepdoc that I considered even "competent" ----taking into account analyzing and correcting actual problems, using experience to maximize treatment, empathy, articulate communication, options, encouragement to become a knowledgeable consumer, or optimum equipment. I would guess tha...
