Re: Bulk Buy Resmed s9 Elite Australia?
Hi Ripsnorter, Sheffey & Crist, Yes, they've got us by the "short & curlies" when it comes to medical equipment!!! Crist, yours is a CPAP machine, the equivalent S9 VPAP is over $A 1,000 more (but my Sleep Doctor hasn't actually told me the exact price yet). He's obviously waiting until I'm fully ho...

Re: Bulk Buy Resmed s9 Elite Australia?
Thanks palerider, that's good to know (well, sort of!). However, now that I think of it, he didn't actually say that the $A 4,000 (approx.) would include the humidifier; and it certainly doesn't include the mask/headgear, nor the climatecontrol tube. That's why I'm expecting to part with approx. $A ...

Re: My initial nights with ResMed S9 VPAP Adapt 36037
Thanks squid13, I thought as much, but needed confirmation. It did seem rather unlikely to me. Perhaps those concerned either accidentally erased their sd cards, or as someone else has suggested, Windows 8 might have added an extra file to the card, if it wasn't in the locked position in their compu...

Re: My initial nights with ResMed S9 VPAP Adapt 36037
Wow, Citation4444, that's wonderful news and I'm very happy for you. What a terrific feeling it is to, in a way, get your life back to some form of normality. My AHI reading last night wasn't quite as good as the previous night, but at 0.8, I'm certainly not complaining. I also had another good nigh...

Re: Bulk Buy Resmed s9 Elite Australia?
Hi Ripsnorter, I know what you mean!!! I'm soon to be charged approx. $ 4,000 for my Resmed S9 VPAP Adapt with S5i humidifier, and I'm sure that no American would ever be expected to pay that much!!! We Aussies often get hit badly, and not only for the cost of medical (and other) equipment. We also ...

Re: BiPap Pressure
Thanks for that, archangle, it's very useful. Apparently with VPAP machines, (according to my S.D.) you must add the pressure (in my case 14 cmH2O) with another number (I thought he said the "PS" or something like that; he lost me there) which must total less than 25 cmH2O for the thinner cable. How...

Re: I can't sleep because of the noise
Hi "The Wife", My wife can fully sympathise with you, and she also used to wear earplugs (with the same consequences). However, as the years have gone by, she has no trouble now & especially with the newer CPAP machines, which are (believe it or not) much quieter than they used to be!!! You should h...

Re: BiPap Pressure
Hi netsurfer, I am certainly no expert, although I'm sure others will know exactly; but yesterday my Sleep Doctor told me that he couldn't take my pressure above 14, because the tube wouldn't support any higher pressures. Mine is the smaller climate (heated) ResMed tube. He said that the larger tube...

Re: My initial nights with ResMed S9 VPAP Adapt 36037
Yes, Letsride; the inventor, Mr Michael Berthon-Jones (and his team, if he has one), should certainly be congratulated. I'm surprised that he applied for the patent so long ago, as it's only (very) recently appeared on the market here. I know there's lots of R&D involved, but even so. Anyway, I'm gl...

Re: My initial nights with ResMed S9 VPAP Adapt 36037
Hi Guys & thanks, Correction: The VPAP S9 (on its own) is actually slightly lighter (at 830grams/1lb 13oz) than the CPAP S9 (835grams/1lb 13.5oz). However the point I was trying to make, is that when you include the power pack (at 730grams/1lb 9oz), it is heavier (and bulkier) than my older ResMed S...

Re: My initial nights with ResMed S9 VPAP Adapt 36037
Hi Folks, I'm a Newbie here on this website, but certainly not new to CPAP (note my signature block below). However, last night was my first time ever using VPAP (ResMed S9) and I was so delighted with the results that I felt I had to post them here. A couple of months ago I was diagnosed with AF (A...
