Re: Newbie Should I buy machine online??
I'm in Australia and bought my Airsense, mask etc from 1800cpap.com. Like you it was over $1000 cheaper than buying locally. I was nervous making the purchase from o/s but all was fine. Was going to use cpap.com but they couldn't ship to Oz.

Re: Anyone taking Actemra?
Thanks Hawthorne I should have said in my OP, I'm in Australia and at the moment Actemra is approved for use here as an iv infusion only & is funded under our health system but only in some cases after meeting certain criteria. I've been offered the opportunity to participate in a clinical trial usi...

Anyone taking Actemra?
Is anyone taking actemra (tocilizumab) for rheumatiod arthritis? My current meds are not working and this is option and so I'm trying to do some research. I've not been able to locate any info about impact on sleep apnea in those patients that have both RA & apnea. So if anyone has any of their own ...

Re: OSA with Rheumatoid Arthritis
I was diagnosed with RA in 1997 & sleep apnea in July 2014, which I suspect I've had for at least 10 years if not longer, the past 2 years getting steadily worse up til diagnosis. For me, I think the biggest factor had been the pure exhaustion from undiagnosed & untreated apnea resulting In a lower ...

Re: Switching masks
I had a similar experience using pillows at the start of my cpap journey and switched to a FFM thinking pillows wouldn't work for me. Then after lots of reading of forum posts, I decided to try again using some of the tips I'd seem mentioned. I moved to a larger pillow cushion than I was originally ...

Re: Attention SleepyHead Mac Users
Thanks so much Jedimark for all your work on SleepyHead As a Mac user and AirSense owner I'm especially appreciative and I encourage everyone who uses Sleepyhead to make a donation if at all possible to help Jedimark continue his work. I know I would have happily paid for this software so was more t...

Re: New APAP Shopping
I've been using my new AirSense AutoSet for a couple of weeks now, didn't get the for her version though just the regular one. So far very happy with it, no problems with the humidifier being built in, smaller footprint and it seems a little quieter than the S9. Few little things I think could be be...

Re: AirSense AutoSet Noise
I've had my AirSense 10 for a couple of weeks now (not the for her version though) and no sound like you are describing nor any discoloration of the humidifier. Sometimes I run the warm up feature but more often not, it doesn't seem to change the sounds if I run the warm up it not. Hope you get an a...

Re: Poll: How many need an alarm to wake up?
Before CPAP 2 alarms needed and many presses of the snooze button even if I'd had an early night and it was a struggle to get going. Now with CPAP I nearly always wake before the alarm goes off and can bounce out of bed. Over the first 2 weeks of CPAP I had to progressively make bedtime later as I w...

Re: Leak data and graph
Thanks for the reply Pugsy, I'm still trying to come to grips with the therapy and the data so your reassurance helps as you pointed out there's really only 1 night that it has been that high. On the nights since my OP the leak rates were lower and my AHI was good too, fingers crossed it was just a ...

Leak data and graph
I'm still very much a newbie just 12 nights into using my rental machine and tracking my data but I am feeling so much better than I was before treatment Quite a few of those nights I have woken in the morning finding that I have removed the mask during the night without any knowledge of doing so or...

Re: Bulk Buy Resmed s9 Elite Australia?
Hi All, I am about to see my sleep specialist who i anticipate is going to recommend the ResMed s9 Elite Cpap with H5i humidifier. I have heard the costs here in Australia are a factor of 3 more than the US. Is anyone interested in seeing if we can get a large enough group together for a bulk buy? ...

Re: questions from a newbie
Thanks for the reply Julie. I'm not using any lotions, just doing a good cleanse of the face to make sure I've removed makeup before bed.Julie wrote:Just a tip - don't put lotion, etc. on your face before masking or everything will slide around.

questions from a newbie
I'm into the second week now of CPAP and am having some great results but of course some teething problems too which brings me to post in the hope that there will be some wisdom out there to help overcome this hurdle. Some background info: Female, 37 Sleep study results - AHI 115 and O2 62% Tried na...
