Re: CPAP Machine Getting Louder? Wife Sleeping In Other Room!
Are you sure it is the machine that is louder. It might be that your mask is leaking more now. Over time the seals break down and don't seal as well as they do when new. Those leaks can be much louder than todays machines. If you can have her listen closely while the noise is happening, it will help...

Re: WARNING: You must replace your mask and tubing every month
I used my last hose for 8 years and my last mask lasted for 7 years. The mask when replaced was still working fine just needing a new liner (6 years old) and headgear (6 years old). I would still be using the hose if I hadn't replaced the machine and received a new one with it.

Re: Can I change the settings on ResMed S9
Once you have done it the first time, it will take only seconds to do it again. This is definitely something the average person can do. I found a link here with a youtube video that walked me through it the first time. I will try to find it again. Thanks, John These links might help you. They are w...

Re: S9 Autoset display light setting
I was afraid of that, but was hoping it was just a setting. Thanks for the help.
I think I am going to try using a small square of cardboard attached with painters tape on one edge. That way I can flip it up to see the display when I want to.
Thanks,
John

Re: S9 Autoset display light setting
I like that. It doesn't bother me, I am already up. The wife is not quite as amused with it. I can tell it bothers her, but she will never say anything to me.spmccord wrote:I actually like the light. I make a game of it and try to get back into bed before the light goes out!

Re: Filters
The instructions that ResMed includes with the S9 says.. Replace filter every 6 months...more often if necessary. The filter is to protect the machine and has nothing to do with the air you are breathing. If the filter is clean there is no reason to replace it. The six month guideline is prepostero...

S9 Autoset display light setting
Is there a way to specify that I don't want the display to light up on the S9 Autoset. When the machine starts or stops, it lights up the display. This is not much of an issue when going to bed, but it is quite bright in the middle of the night if I turn off the machine to get up or go to the bathro...

Re: For Sale: New DS560 at $400 and New S9 AutoSet at $550
I purchased one of these from Mark. I have been very pleased with his communications and the experience overall. It's been quite the contrast from my previous experiences with the local DME. I would have no hesitation buying from him again when needed.

Re: OK to use cpap while sick?
I would suggest cleaning things more frequently while you are sick and especially after you feel better. I don't like having the extra germs festering in something I breath out of.

Re: Upgrading from CPAP to APAP, what configurations do I change
Ok, that makes sense for the min pressure. x-1 it is. I didn't realize that the behaviour would drop to the min unless there were no episodes happening. The only time I could see needing less than my normal pressures is when I lay on my side, but I am used to them staying elevated today. I can deal ...

Re: Upgrading from CPAP to APAP, what configurations do I change
Thanks for the responses. Based on research and recommendations, this is what I am looking at so far. Tubing Type Mask Type Ramp = Off EPR = Full EPR = 2 Mode = AutoSet Max pressure = +2 from current cpap machine Min Pressure = -2 from current cpap machine Climate Ctrl = patient Sleep Quality = On S...

Re: Upgrading from CPAP to APAP, what configurations do I change
Great advice. It has been a long time since I changed the pressure. I think it was 8 or 9. I will check the old one and set the min and max.
I don't use the ramp feature on my current one. I like it to just come on, so I will replicate that setting also.
Thanks,
John
