Thanks for the sound advice, Den. I am pursuing a backup machine to ensure I am covered. I appreciate your opening my eyes....
Best,
Mike

Re: Maintenance Question
Thanks GP - yes, I was kind of facetiously comparing this to a 10K service on a car - oil change, tire rotation, et al. I estimate I have just under 4,000 hours on the machine - by your example, barely broken in. I never considered backup - odd because I am compulsive about backing up files, pics, e...

Maintenance Question
Hello Friends - I have experienced rousing success with CPAP therapy for one year and one month so far. I review SleepyHead regularly and my AHI average over the last year is 0.89. My sleep study clocked me at 43.0 - so this is obviously an effective treatment. Fortunately, I took to the machine lik...

Re: How many pillows do you use?
I use one very soft oversized down pillow. In the morning it is usually quite compressed, but no pains in the neck or back - so I keep using it.

Re: A Confusing Situation
Thanks for the info, Library lady - I had no idea such a site existed. Another benefit of being a member of this community. I intend trying these liners and pads. As for the nasal pillow mask, for me, it was very uncomfortable, Red. My sleep study titration session was very thorough as I was the onl...

Re: A Confusing Situation
Hard to believe that it's been a month since I last spoke about this experience. Thanks to the great advice received here, I knew what to ask for and what to not stand for. It was actually painless; I ensured the prescription was written with all of the features I wanted. After a week or so, Lincare...

Re: A Confusing Situation
I wanted to update the kind folks who provided such valuable advice to me. I spoke at length with MVP (my insurer) and got satisfactory answers to my questions regarding what they pay and how often supplies are approved, etc. I then spoke with the sleep clinic to find out what they had recommended t...

Many thanks to everyone who has provided this valuable information. I am about to call MVP and find out what I need to know before calling Lincare. I will update as things progress - unfortunately I had a busy morning at work and couldn't take a minute until now.

Re: A Confusing Situation
Hello Janknitz and Roger - Sincere thanks for the great information. I was literally ready to put my head in the sand and just hope this would all go away - now, at least, I can formulate a plan. Janknitz - your blog page is a Godsend. Roger - I will post what transpires when I contact Lincare and g...

A Confusing Situation
Hello All - I am a new member and hoping for some advice. I am a 57 y/o male recently diagnosed with OSA. My employer is based in Rochester, NY - yet I work from a home office in Ohio. My insurance, MVP Healthcare, is a New York company that uses Cigna nationally. My doctor sent the prescription for...
