Re: Machine Noise still driving us insane
You could try sleeping at a truck stop a couple nights...all the engine noise, doors slamming and guys peeing alongside trucks nicely masks any noises a CPAP makes...

Re: Advice new air sense or slightly used s9
FWIW, I was "issued" a Respironics autoset machine by my company, used it awhile, then bought two Resmed level auto machines from Ghost. I was also worried that there would be some weird issue, being as mine are for DOT compliance, but I found that once I cut the proverbial cord with the DME, I got ...

Re: Having a Cold & Sleep Anxiety - CPAP Not Easy Sometimes
I've had my share of the creeping crap that winds up in my chest and sinuses, making breathing improbable. At these times, I have turned up the humidity, upped the heated hose temp, sometimes bumped up the pressure, and occasionally put some essential oil or Vicks VapoRub behind the air intake to he...

Not as such, but I *have* seen (mostly not-incriminating) pictures.

Use that dampened machine like MY life counts on it. Because I'm old and butchery , Auto-incorrect kicking your butt today, or are you subtly increasing the threat factor should some sleepy driver run into you? :D    Oh, for craps sake...using the Amazon fire and not paying attention...

Re: After one month on BiPap, AHI is higher than sleep study?
I'm not a help to your settings, but I was diagnosed via home (truck) sleep study, never saw the doctor who supposedly prescribed my machine, when I tried calling him to change the pressure, I got an out of state number, which was disconnected.... got in a screaming and swearing match with the DME (...

Pugsy, lol, you have the inside scoop on me. ;) I blame you guys for making me so awake I got that award last year. Chunky, Merry Christmas right back atcha! I've missed the dysfunction here, but the road supplies a ton of distraction. Palerider, lol, how would you know, have we met? ;) Nicholasjh1,...

Re: Dot compliance
As a truck driver who has been on therapy and nearly 100% in compliance the past 4+ years, I'm stunned by how much more Pugsy knows about DOT regulations than I. She probably reads up, I just use my equipment and call it done. FWIW, if you spend time away from home, a second machine for travel is pr...

Re: Switch from FFM to nasal pillows? How did you do it?
I used that silly neoprene headgear briefly. It helped some. AND I found that if I took a blanket and tucked it under my jaw while I was on my side, it assisted in keeping my big fat yap closed. Basically, it's training your body to do as you want...while you sleep. It can take awhile, but being as ...

still alive and kicking.
Life has been busy, seasons and health have changed, last time I was sick it was a nasty upper respiratory goo that apparently has had lingering effect. My AHI went from below 1 to 4 and even 5. I waited it out in misery, to be sure it was a trend and not just a fluke...a couple weeks of that and I ...

Re: machine sliding on nightstand
I use a machine in my big truck, and to keep it from sliding I use a rubber mouse pad underneath, then run the hose up to loop through the handles of a makeup bag I have stowed in an overhead, and then down to me. Not perfect, but it keeps everything where it should be, routes the hose up and keeps ...

I would think that as a woman, you would be siding with 49er, bleeping beauty(?), Lucy and the other female libs. I guess your post means: 1. You apparently think all women know each other (à la Cheetolini assuming that all black people know each other, asking reporter April Ryan to set up a meetin...

Re: Is cpap worth it for mild apena?
You might be AMAZED. My AHI was 10.4 when I took the portable study. I was always tired, woke several times on average at night to pee...treated, my AHI is usually under 1, I'm more awake (need testing for low iron though), and only wake once per night on average. I actually slept a couple times fo...

I will vouch for ghost. I've got a pair of s9 bilevel machines that I bought from him. When I'm in the market for another (hopefully not soon), I will go to him.
