Re: Will I get into trouble for changing settings on my own?
If your machine has a wireless modem, they can detect the change and readjust it remotely. The FIRST time I find out they've changed my settings remotely, I'm taking off the modem and telling them to let me know when they want compliance data, I will hook it back up at that point til it sends the i...

Re: Poll: Have Any of You Been Caught Changing Your Pressure?
I fessed up to my fleet manager the other day when we discussed getting the results. I also told him, "I don't EVEN want to hear a WORD about my pressure settings being changed." I told him the DME chastised me for suggesting a higher pressure, and after a month I couldn't take it anymore...I dabble...

Doubtful the manual that came with the machine would tell much more than push the button to start, and maybe how to adjust humidity.

I would recommend you take 15 minutes to review this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gie2dhqP2c The video put the whole Sleep Disorder Breathing in perspective for me. I was able to show it to my family to help them understand what was happening with me. It is my hope it will help y...

A week to check results sounds like what I'm going to deal with shortly. And this is the "quick" clinic for us.

Re: Problem with Sleepy Head or Cpap machine?
I'm currently running 9.5. Guess I'll also be upgrading, then. I haven't seen any issues so far, but if there's a more stable version, why not hop ship before it sinks?

Re: Help for new Auto-Cpap user
adjust your humidity. When I tried using higher humidity, I had headaches...NASTY ones. I dropped to level 2, and I'm good. Yours may need to be raised, but by playing with the numbers a bit, you may find the "sweet spot". Potty breaks were explained to me with something like...the body gets tense a...

New Pulse Ox just came...SH info included
I bought the CMS50E online, and just got home today and opened the box. The company I bought from includes a sheet on: "Viewing Recorded and Live Oximetry Data From CMS 50D+/E With SleepyHead For Mac Users" Very cool...too bad I use Windows 8.1. But at least SH is getting popular enough to be includ...

DOT Compliance check
My fleet manager (a.k.a. my "handler") is going to try to get me to one of our company's regular medical contacts next week to do a compliance check with my sleep data. Since I keep the machine and memory card in the truck, not an issue. I'm just curious, however, since this is my first (and hopeful...

Lucky you!! I felt like a confused ferret, what with all the distraction they threw at me so they didn't have to lose my bu$ine$$ by giving me my prescription.

Re: Pillows (not the nasal kind)
I've considered taking a pillow case and sewing it into a more PAP friendly shape, then using standard pillow stuffing and sewing that sucker shut. A cheap option, to be sure.

my current record is something around 12 1/2 hours straight...UNHEARD of pre-apap. In that time, I would have been up for a bathroom break like 3 times. Let the good times roll!

now, now...don't forget the Respironics machines. Mine doesn't show the smiley face when I meet compliance, or mask leakage is low or whatever... but the 560 does a beautiful job of keeping me breathing, supplying all the info I could ask for (and some I don't know what it's for) and has enough bell...

if it's the mask venting the air into the sheets, etc...I've seen somewhere that a person taped on a bit of fluff to divert the air a bit to reduce the jet propulsion factor. also, if it's the air vent, there are other masks that might help him while being quieter and thus, helping you.

Re: Compliance and self adjustments
Hmm...so would walking in, twirling my hair with a finger, looking baffled and saying, "I like horses and stuff!" work, ya think? I know my mind...If I have to take the info in to prove compliance before they renew my federal medical card for DOT...I will most likely have an attitude in check, just ...
