Should I care about leak rate with low AHI?
Just checked my data and noticed my leak rate is averaging 80-90% (which is obviously very high). However, my AHI is averaging .58 (my lowest ever). I'm assuming I can ignore the leak rate as AHI is the most important metric. Or should I care about the leak rate? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Training Mouth to Stay Closed - Looking for Advice
After several years with the full face-mask I'm trying to transition to nasal pillows. The only reason is that I'm tired of the line on the bridge of my nose when I wake up after a full night's sleep. I've tried to use the Remzzzs disposable pads to help with the lines, but they don't work all that ...

Re: A Flex vs C Flex for Long Breaths?
Just turn them off and don't use either one. I used C-Flex for quite a few years a a setting of 2. I finally started experimenting with NO exhale relief and found I really didn't need it........turned it off on all my machines and wondered why I didn't do that many years before. Den . Thanks - goin...

A Flex vs C Flex for Long Breaths?
I'm trying to find the optimal setting as I like to take deeper breaths as I fall asleep. On the A Flex setting the machine would "catch" on my deeper inhales. I don't know how better to describe it, but I'm sure Phillips RemStar System One users know what I'm talking about. I switched to C which se...

Re: A flex vs C flex vs C flex plus
While your AHI is far from horrible if that report were mine I would probably try to clean it up a little more. Not so much because of the AHI but because of the snores and flow limitations that are going along with it. Just a little bit too much "clutter" to suit me. I think all that might be need...

Re: A flex vs C flex vs C flex plus
Your AHI of 2.5 or so.....what is the event category breakdown? Are you seeing any Flow limitations or snores to speak of? What are your current pressure settings...minimum and maximum? Your current Flex setting? http://aflex.respironics.com/ The actual drop in pressure during exhale is limited to ...

A flex vs C flex vs C flex plus
I'm embarrassed to admit, after a year of using my Philips Respironics PR System One REMStar 60 Series Auto CPAP Machine with Humidifier... but I truly don't know the difference between a-flex, c-flex, and c-flex plus. I've read the descriptions online but I'm not sure how to interpret which is "bes...

Re: Any recommendations on setting changes?
Your profile says PR System One Remstar Auto which is a Phillips Respironics machine. ResMed is not the same as Remstar...ResMed is another brand. Since you mention AFlex and CFlex...you are using a Respironics machine and not a ResMed machine. Your humidifier choice is incorrect though...the one y...

Re: Any recommendations on setting changes?
I upgrades from ResMed 460 to ResMed auto - I've been experimenting with the auto setting. At my sleep study they stabilized me at 9cm. When I got the non-auto ResMed they set it up for 9cm (ramp from 4-9 in 20 min). I was using cflex+. there's no such thing as a resMED 460, and resMED machines don...

Re: Any recommendations on setting changes?
According to your profile you do not have a ResMed machine. As far as settings...I would turn off the ramp and set the machine at 8 to 12. Then leave the settings alone for a few weeks and watch your data. Right now your AHI looks fine. My profile says ResMed Auto, I believe. Are you referring to my...

Re: AHI doubled when I switched to auto?
Hi Group! I've been using the REMstar 460 for a few months set my sleep doc (based on my sleep study numbers). I start at 4 and ramp up to 9 over 25min. My AHI usually hovers around 3 (which is still high, but I just chalk it up to me being new and only using it a few months). Anyway, I decided to ...

Re: AHI doubled when I switched to auto?
Easy answer: Some people just don't fare well with auto-adjusting therapy and find that one straight pressure serves them better. If I were you, I'd cut the ramp altogether (unless you just can't fall asleep at your prescribed pressure of 9). Otherwise, I'd cut the ramp time down to maybe 5 or 10 m...
